North Georgia Engagement Session

Who could be better than a close friend to photograph your engagement session? Sawyer Baird jumped at the chance to capture these adorable friends in their element, and every photo in the full gallery is sure to steal your heart! From casual and cozy moments walking the dogs to a dazzling, dressed-up affair, it’s the kind of shoot we dream about!

From Sawyer BairdMadeline and Zachary are two of the funniest, sweetest and beautiful people I know… let’s be honest here.

When Zachary told us that he was proposing to Madeline on their recent cruise that they went on, and Bert and I would have to make a video saying “Congrats” due to them having no cell service – I sobbed in the happiest of ways. We were beyond thrilled for them. Being a part of this process and being able to photograph such amazing memories for them just melts my heart. It truly is such a gift.

I can not wait to stand with these two next May as they say their vows and start forever.

Beautiful Backyard Georgia Wedding

With a backyard like this, why get married anywhere else? This lovely couple said their “I do’s” at the Groom’s parent’s backyard at Lake Lanier, and with so much natural beauty all around every photo captured by Graham Terhune is breathtaking! It’s a sweet and simple celebration in hues of mint and blush, and you can see it all in the full gallery right here.

From the beautiful Bride… The wedding style that we were aiming to achieve would be simple, elegant, and timeless. We got married in Shane’s parent’s backyard on a Lake Lanier, and did not want to try to compete with the beautiful backdrop. We chose a very soft color scheme (light mint, blush, and neutrals), and tried to keep everything very clean and simple in order to allow the amazing scenery speak for itself. Flower arrangements were loose and whimsical in attempt to connect with the natural beauty surrounding us. We couldn’t be more pleased with how everything came together and cannot thank all of our vendors enough for the wonderful venue they helped us to create!

From the Bride… From the moment Jason proposed to me in a helicopter overlooking the Atlanta skyline, I knew I wanted an elegant, yet glamorous affair. I have always loved black and white (take a peek inside my closet!), but wanted to accent them with dark purple and silver for our October wedding. With this idea in mind, I immediately started planning for our big day with the best wedding planner ever, my mom!

After touring several venues, we fell in love with Chattahoochee Country Club on Lake Lanier. It didn’t have that typical country club feel due to the grand Patio Pavilion for our cocktail hour with the stacked stone outdoor fireplace and fountain. The glamorous ballroom had a gorgeous view of the lake with twinkling canopy lights draped from the ceiling that illuminated the chandeliers.

The custom invitations were designed from Etsy and printed by my family’s printing company in order to keep everything local. I love chandeliers, so I incorporated this into our wedding programs and by bringing in a chandelier for the outdoor wedding ceremony. We used billowy white fabric and baby’s breath to create a beautiful focal point for the ceremony that allowed me to capture my Pinterest vision, yet stay within budget.

Keeping in theme with the chandeliers, I wanted my jewelry and my bridesmaids jewelry to really stand out among the crowd. My girls and I wore statement pieces that accentuated the glamorous feel of the wedding and the groom and groomsmen were the perfect Southern gentlemen with cotton boutonnieres.

One of the more special moments of the night was when my brother walked me down the aisle. He is such an inspiration after overcoming many obstacles in his life and I wanted to honor him for all his achievements. He also granted me a brother/sister dance to “Do You Love Me?” from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack, my all-time favorite movie!

After our sunset ceremony, guests were treated to our signature cocktails, the Gentlemen and the Blonde. For dinner we served crab cakes, apple smoked pork tenderloin, fried green beans, macaroni and cheese, squash casserole, buttermilk biscuits and many other Southern dishes! The wedding cake consisted of four different flavors of pound cake and the grooms cake highlighted my husband’s love of golf and UGA with two flavors of cheesecake. At the end of the night, servers came back out with homemade oreo cheesecake ice cream and brownie sundaes and homemade pistachio ice cream and cookie sundaes. Needless to say, they were the hit of the late night dance party!

A vintage 1954 white Bentley whisked us away into the night after our sparkler departure. We could not have asked for a more perfect ending to our fairytale wedding!
