This little proposal is overflowing with all the things that makes my heart flutter. A hubby-to-be on one knee (with the smarts to make sure Elle Puckett Photographer was there to snap up all the sweet moments), a bride-to-be completely surprised by his sweet gesture, and pure happiness that seems to seep through every image. It’s enough to put a smile on your face for the rest of the day, and you can get to smiling right here.
From Elle… Sometimes couples just really have “it”. They connect in a way that is so natural, that I do not even have to direct them. Ashlee and Matthew are that kind of couple. It was the most amazing shoot.
When we were about to begin, Matthew turned to me and said, “Get your camera ready. I am about to propose!”. I think my heart skipped a beat! I had about 30 seconds before Ashlee walked over and he knelt down on one knee. I would have cried, but I was so happy for them! [ I was flipping out too!] I should have suspected it was coming because when they booked me for their wedding, Ashlee did not have a ring yet. We made a few jokes about it, but truthfully it was really a sweet situation. Matthew did not want to buy her ring on credit, so he worked all summer to pay for it! I am pretty sure Ashlee felt it was worth it. As for me, I am glad that I got to be part of such a special moment in their lives.
Oh, I guess I should mention. They are both teachers! We did a cute little teacher themed “Save the Date”. We ended the session at a nearby creek. The images are so beautiful!
