Atlanta Summerour Studio Wedding from Paperlily Photography

Even though I have never actually stepped foot outside of the Atlanta airport, I am 100 percent certain that I would love, love, love The ATL.  Maybe that’s because it’s a city that seems to scream Southern hospitality and also hosts some of the most amazing weddings you will ever lay your eyes upon, like this sweet affair captured by Paperlily Photography.  The perfect mix of traditional and modern with the prettiest of details bursting from every nook and cranny, it’s everything I’ve come to love about The Peach State, with a yummy side of pecan and apple pie.  Click here for sooo much more.

And a little extra sweetness with this beautiful film from Mason Beckman.  Enjoy.

From the Bride… We held our ceremony at our church, Peachtree Presbyterian. It had always been a personal dream of mine to have a traditional church ceremony that honored God and our families. Walking down the long center aisle with my father will always be one of my favorite memories of the day. For a less traditional reception, Summerour Studio was the perfect venue right in the middle of the city. The entrance is a Tuscan villa style courtyard that is clad with vines and string lights. The main room, a loft style space with original wood floors and an impressive staircase, was big enough to hold our 200 guests, but intimate enough that there was not a bad seat in the house.

There were so many personal and handmade details that played a part in our big day. Some were very sentimental. My mom was hands on every step of the way. My something old was the lace around my bouquet which came from my mother’s wedding dress. My something new was my lace wedding dress, earrings, and shoes. My matron of honor, my sister, provided my something borrowed, the veil she wore when she got married, while my garter was my something blue. It is a University of Florida Gator garter shared among my sorority sisters and each of our married initials are embroidered into the garter by the previous bride. My mother and father-in-law helped me make vintage chalkboard frames to hold our menu and signature drink recipes. They also cut wine corks, featuring vineyards from North Georgia, that we collected to use as place card holders.

Our florist did a phenomenal job of creating our navy, green, and white vision. I thought moss runners would look great on the tables to compliment the large moss letters we hung in the courtyard. From there, Randy Smith of Aunt Ruthie’s Designs collected more 150 glass jars, bottles, and vases of various sizes, filled them with a variety of white flowers and placed them throughout the tables.

Paperlily Photography and Mason Beckman captured each precious moment of our day through pictures and video.  Endive Catering helped us create a spread of Southern favorites. We used a coffee table book full of historic pictures of Atlanta as our guestbook. For favors, our guests walked home with John’s favorite hot sauce, appropriately named “Hotlanta Hot Sauce.” My husband’s pick for entertainment was the band Trotline. They did a phenomenal job of keeping our crowd dancing with country and traditional hits. We traveled around on the Georgia Tech trolley and honored our college mascots with our cake topper. Instead of one cake, we had five, each a different flavor, along with two favorite southern pies, pecan and apple. At the end of the night, John drove us away in his family’s vintage 1967 Shelby GT500.

From 3Ring WeddingsWhat happens when two neurologists meet in a hospital hallway? You might think it would be to share a diagnosis, or to get a second opinion, but for Sam and Leslie that chance meeting turned into a prognosis of marriage. Though they grew up on separate continents, their decision to work in medicine helped this couple find one another in the halls of Emory hospital.

Sam realized Leslie was lost, and thought “this girl is cute.” So after giving her directions he asked her for a date. They grabbed a drink and the two found an immediate connection. But that connection was in danger of failing to become a full-fledged relationship as Sam was about to leave Atlanta for a job in Michigan.

Ironically, the very careers that brought them together immediately threatened to split them apart. But through persistance and patience these two made a long distance relationship work, and they closed the gap between their careers and the altar.

Atlanta Wedding at The River Club from Something Pretty Photography

There’s just something so wonderful about tying the knot in an outdoor ceremony.  The streaming sunlight, the birds chirping, the ethereal canopy of trees… it’s a beautiful way to say “I do.”  And when that ethereal location happens to be The River Club in Suwanee, Georgia, it’s even more spectacular than you can imagine.  Especially when paired with stunning florals from The Savage Garden, a travel-inspired theme and two cuties who are sooo in love, it’s palpable.  See it all captured by Something Pretty Photography right here.

From Something Pretty Photography… This was just such a spectacular wedding.  Emily and Chris were married at the River Club outside of Atlanta earlier this month in a beautiful outdoor ceremony.  Emily is from Georgia and Chris is from Australia and they wanted to honor their respective homes and all the travel they have done together and the details showed it!  From the paper goods, to the soles of her shoes, it was all about traveling, nature, and LOVE.  Add in some of the most spectacular flowers and bouquet I have ever seen and it was just a magical day.
