Absolutely not!  I think that you can wear whatever you are most comfortable in…  I would consider how cold it will be, whether or not you'll be spending much time outdoors, if your dress is long/short, formality of the wedding, etc.  There are plenty of strappy shoe selections that are not too spring/summer-y.
