When choosing the kind of moving documentation you want for your wedding, try not to get lost in how people describe their work. Look at samples, meet with potential vendors, and choose the kind of professional who can best create the type of production that appeals to you – AND whom you want to be at your wedding!

There are so many styles of production and types of technology out there that it's easy to get confused and lost in it all. Consider going about hiring your team in the same way you went about buying your dress: Look at different styles. See  what appeals to you. Envision yourself in the production. See what fits you and your style. Determine what is most important to you about the production's contents. Do you want intimate gestures? Broad strokes of images? Personal reflections? Reactions shots? Do you want the camera(s) hidden or do you care if the camera person is running around with a shoulder mounted cam and a light?

Imagine how the final production will look when you watch it in 10 or 25 years. Then, when you have found your ideal movie and movie maker, place a value on it relative to the value you have placed on other things – photography, food, flowers, band, dj – at your wedding.

Ask various professionals about their fee policies. Can you pay for filming before the wedding, then decide (and pay ) for editing later – or does the whole package price need to be paid for up front? Can fees be based on length of production? Or is there a one-size- fits-all  and then add-ons?

It may take some time, but I can pretty much guarantee that there is a perfect studio out there that can give you just what you're looking for!
