I have been planning my step daughter's wedding reception for a couple of months (her mother is deceased).  We are having a rustic/country theme reception and have been looking for clever ideas.  One thing we did stumble upon is the oversize jars used to serve apple cider (with a ladle) in Brides.com  and the same exact jars used to serve pink lemonade on Martha Stewarts website.  We have been looking for these jars because they would be perfect for this occassion and cannot find them.  Do you have any ideas where these jars can be purchased?  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you for the time you have afforded this request.

I am planning a rustic wedding and would enjoy to hear from anyone who has any ideas.  The wedding will be held outdoors weather permitting, July 25, 2009 bridesmaids color is watermelon.  My ideas include using old doors for the food, using bricks for food risers.  Building a lemonade stand and having pink lemonade, mike's lemonade, and raspberry ice tea using mason jars for drinking.  Lobster rolls, watermelon fruit bowl, pink sugared butter cookies, cupcakes with piled high with buttercream icing and pink dots on the top,

Any suggestions to add?   Thanks, Andi

I can just picture your step-daughter's wedding, it's going to be soooo amazingly cute and beautiful!

Besides all the wonderful ideas that you already have, I visualize having a “make-your-own-sundae” stand and a old style photobooth, so that guests and hosts can have a fun interactive celebration together!

Since the color scheme and the food is so colorful, I would love to put a little bit of whimsical touch to this fantastic rustic theme.  I think by hanging some pastel yellow, pink & white sphere paper lanterns on the tree and/or put some japanese style paper umbrellas around the food stand will give a wedding a unique twist to it.

As much as I love buttercream cupcakes, I would try to avoid serving it in an outdoor hot summer wedding.  Buttercream is sooooo easy to melt with a blink of an eye under the sun, that's the only thing I can think of that you may want to be more careful about it.

Hi There!  I was just in a Home Goods store over the weekend and they were selling glass jars with the spigot on the bottom to dispense lemonade and the like…$19.99.
