I just got married at the end of June (yay!) and wanted to set up a vendor reviews page.  While the wedding went really well and I'm really excited to see the pics, there's always a few things that don't go quite right.

My question is what to include for vendors I liked and those I didn't like.  All the details?  Names?  Or is it enough to say that they're just not recommended?

It's a little tricky since I'll have continued contact with one of the vendors I didn't care for.  I haven't had a chance to discuss things that were a little disappointing with the vendors themselves yet.  Should I do that first so they have a heads up?

Brides that are planning, what would you like to hear about vendors?

I don't think saying I don't recommend them is enough. You need say why. For example: The limo was an hour late to take us to get pictures.  Which made our ceremony start late. Then when he was supposed to pick us up from the reception he was a no show and we had to ride home with mom and dad.

Hope that helps!

Hey Sierra! The best way, in my opinion, to do a vendor review is much like Nole did on her Knot Bio page…

I think that every situation is different and some brides will have positive experiences with vendors that another bride had really negative experiences with. I think Nole did a great job emphasizing the positive and the negative of each vendor that she worked with.

We aren't set up for bio pages here YET but hopefully we will be sometime in the near future. Another great place for vendor reviews is Project Wedding. It's literally all reviews so you can be really detailed.

Hope this helps!

I am trying to set up a vendor review site too for sydney! The ones we have here are just basically wedding directories that show you who they are and what they've done, but no feedback from their customers. What do you think would drive more couples as well as newlyweds to visit the site and post reviews for their favorite and least favorite vendors?

Generally leaving feedback that is helpful to other prospective clients and true and accurate is the way to go. Make sure to point out the positive as well as negative things about the vendor. Also if you would use their service again or recommend them to a friend.

Have you heard of the site weddingwire.com ?

You can post reviews of your wedding vendors on the site and give them a rating on certain aspects of their service.

I belong to Wedding Wire as a vendor for my invitation design business and it has been very helpful in getting feedback from my clients.
