I am not sure about California companies but DEFINITELY make sure you get a number of positive reviews before booking. I just read a nightmare story about a company on Long Island that is awful, its really a guy that gets college kids to do the weddng, the booth comes with like pipe and drape and instructions for them to set it up. There are some awesome ones out there and I think it is the best idea (I am so trying to squeeze this into the budget!) just be careful and make sure you get your homework in.

I was at a wedding in Vegas, and this company did an amazing job. Everyone had such a great time with it! They just relocated their business to the Northern California area, and they travel. Here is the site: http://www.blrphoto.com

Another idea to think about it is renting digital cameras for your reception. Picture It Yourself will send a case of digital cameras that you place around the wedidng reception and then send back in a pre-paid case. Check out the website at http://www.PictureItYourself.com

This site has a long list photo booth companies organized by location. Might be worth taking a look at.

Here's Christy's description of a photo booth shown on SMP. True it's not really a photo booth but provides some of the same charm and is a great DIY wedding project.

Has anyone tried this? I would love to do something similar but have no idea what type of fabric makes the best backdrop. Should it be light or dark, and what about the print…does it matter if it's too busy?

My cousin rented a photo booth from California Photo Booth Company for her wedding last year and they were great! Everyone loved it! I am definitely going to rent from them for my wedding. The other photo booths in the Central Valley were not as nice–they were just curtains and they looked tacky.

Go ahead and check out http://www.centralvalleyphotobooth.com. I am the owner/founder. I was in the same boat as everyone else when I got married and couldnt find a booth that met my standards. So I built my own and then after my wedding decided to start renting it out, and it has really taken off. People love it wherever I take it, and have plenty of past customers that could attest to it. I also know of a few other companies in different areas so if you have any questions dont hesitate to let me know, im more than willing to help out.
