My daughters September wedding is being held on an ocean front lawn and the dilemma is the color scheme. She is set on a nautical theme (crisp clean) with navy blue bridesmaid dresses and the mother of the groom really wants the boys in traditional black tuxes. I would opt for bright pink hues but my daughter doesn't want any hint of pinks, reds, or corals! I know we need some pop for the navy – What is a mother to do??!

Congratulations on your daughter's wedding!
It's a September wedding with oceanfront lawn, I'm closing my eyes to imagine the surrounding scenary. If she doesn't like any bright pink hues, might want to consider pairing navy blue with bright yellow to give a pop of colour.
If she doesn't like bright colour much and want it to be as timeless classic as possible, silver and creamy sand colour goes really well with navy blue too.
Hope it helps!

I really like navy blue with lighter blue accents, especially for an oceanfront wedding.
A monochromatic palette is awesome if you use a lot of different shades of the same hue

My sister-in-law is pairing tangerine orange with navy for her summer wedding. But I also love the idea of pairing lighter shades of blue – I'm sure it'll look beautiful!
I think it's alright for the men to be in traditional black tuxedos – just tie the men and women together with a coordinating color through their flowers/boutinnieres or by adding a sash to the bridesmaids dresses.
All the best to you & congratulations!
