Please help my fiancé and I with our palette!
We are getting married in the old English-style dining hall of a university campus (very Hogwarts) in late September of this year.  We are having a terrible time trying to come up with a look for the semi-formal sit-down dinner reception that reflects our modern and classic tastes, that fits with the time of year and the historic grandeur of the space, and doesn’t look too traditional “fall” (no apples and sheaves of wheat).
My dress is ivory and the bridesmaids are in chocolate brown, but other than that we haven’t come up with a color scheme that works for us.  We’d love something that has a kind of old-fashioned glamour that translates into a space with long dining tables, stone floors, and vaulted ceilings.  I'm at my wits end to come up with something that looks cohesive.  Any suggestions you or your readers have would be greatly appreciated!

You could do an array of metallic shades, incorporating champagnes and golds with coppers and bronzes. They'll look lovely with your ivory dress and the brown dresses, as well as add a touch of elegant shimmer to what would otherwise be traditional fall tones. Your flowers could mix creams with soft shades of taupe, beige, and silver. Cafe au lait dahlias or chocolate roses would be lovely mixed with greens that resemble fall foliage. Antique hydrangea and succulents could offer some nice tones in this palette as well.

For a more romantic look you could try a cool, dusty rose/mauve tone with touches of aubergine here and there. I'm visioning stained lips, satin ribbons, lush roses and antique candle holders pulling the look together.
