I need HELP. My reception is at a Historic Theatre and it is very dark in there with limited lighting. You can see the venue at http://www.fwembassytheatre.org/rentals.htm. I am using the chairs available which are black ballroom chairs. My color palette is black, deep red, deep plum, and lime green. I am going to have black table linens, and originally red napkins, but I didn't know if that would be too dark. So my second thought was to go with a gold or ivory damask napkin to lighten the room and make it look more like a wedding. Do you think that all the black and red will be too dark?? Need some input THANKS.

I don't think the red and black will be too dark, but it is purely a matter of taste…what appeals most to you. I saw the theater has a lot of red…are you bring red in with your flowers? What kind of plates will you be using? It helps me visualize when I am working to draw a diagram of the table layout with everything labeled with color so I can see how it will balance.  Also, I have pictures on my facebook page of 2 wedding in a theater that looks a lot like that one…one of the brides chose silver, gold and black for her linens, the other chose jewel tones…most anything in deep tone will work in a space like that.
