I need help coming up with an officiant for my wedding. I'm getting married outdoors and the Catholic Church denied my request to be married by my childhood priest b/c my wedding isn't in a church, so I'm lost as to what to do next. I do not want a stranger to officiate my wedding. I'm thinking of having a friend ordained to perform the ceremony, but am not sure. My fiance and I aren't extremely religious, but we do want some spiritual and traditional elements as well as non-traditional elements to our ceremony. Does anyone have a good idea or a recommendation of a good officiant in the LA area? I need some brainstorming. Thanks!

We were recently married by Rev. Paula Licitra. She performed a beautiful service for us, which included traditional wedding vows. We were so happy to have Rev. Paula perform our services and our families just loved the services. I know that Rev. Iam a Justice of the Peace for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and have performed many outdoor weddings with the priest giving a blessing. If your childhood priest will participate, the justice would have to sign the license and perform the legal parts of the marriage and the priest could to the rest.
