Jupiter Beach Resort Wedding by Catherine Marciniak Photography

May 14th. 2012 by Dawn | 16 comments

I’m just going to jump right in and say it – this couple is adorable.  So adorable, in fact, that one of their very first wedding planning tasks was – you guessed it – sitting down and putting together an inspiration board.  If those aren’t the actions of an all caps ADORABLE bride and groom-to-be, than I don’t know what is.  And their wedding?  Well, it’s just as amazing as they are, with a breathtaking oceanside setting, one heartwarming moment after another and a gallery filled with glorious images by Catherine Marciniak Photography.  Join me there for so much more.

From the Bride… Adam and I met in the Spring of 2008. We hit it off quickly, bonding over our mutual love of cooking and travel. The more time we spent together, the more we realized that we were meant to be. On January 13th, 2011, Adam popped the question, and I gleefully accepted. After combing the east coast of Florida for the perfect wedding location, we chose Jupiter Beach Resort as our venue for the ceremony and reception. We knew that we wanted our wedding to have a laid-back yet elegant feel, and we have both always loved the beach, so Jupiter Beach Resort was just right.

Since becoming engaged, I’ve become a bit of a wedding blog addict, scouring the details of other weddings to see what I might like to employ for our own. After picking the location, Adam and I both agreed that we didn’t want a typical beach wedding replete with seashells and starfish, but we weren’t sure in exactly what direction we were heading. We began to build a virtual inspiration board, and the overall theme had a rustic chic vibe. After a few well-intentioned but ill-fated attempts to select the décor ourselves, we decided we needed a professional. Enter Jan Chlebek, our amazing wedding planner and floral designer for the wedding. Jan has an incredible eye for style, and she quickly began to bring our vision to fruition. Along with her incredibly talented daughter, Jan designed the décor and floral arrangements from the ground up. They created custom centerpieces to our taste and went as far as hand-painting the runner for the aisle. We had another close friend sew the burlap table runners by hand. We were delighted with the turnout. We married on the lovely sand dune adjacent to the resort with a cocktail hour and plated dinner reception following after. One of the gifts we received was a photo booth to be used during our reception. We had our guests include one copy of the photo strip in our guest book and keep the other as our favor. Our amazing DJ kept everyone on their feet and our friends and family danced the night away. The whole day was captured beautifully by our photographer, Catherine Marciniak. Our wedding day was filled with love, and thanks to Catherine, we will cherish those emotions for a lifetime.

When you put so much love into each and every aspect of your wedding it definitely shows creating an emotion-filled, personal, heart-melting day that perfectly reflects you as a couple.  That is certainly the case with this Jensen Beach wedding.  You can just feel the love exuding out of every image by Dillon Photo.  It comes through not only in the happy, glowing faces of the couple but also into each affectionately crafted detail that they made together.  See them all here in the full gallery!

And the cherry on top is this perfect little film by LoveBug Productions!

From the Bride… I met my future husband Dave, a little over one year before we got engaged, and I knew right from the beginning of our relationship that he was “the one”. And once you find the one you want to spend the rest of your life with, why wait for the rest of your life to begin? This is why we only had a six month engagement. It is funny how life can be so bittersweet — going into planning mode for our big day, I had a hard time coming to terms with the fact that my father would not be with us because he had passed away two years prior. What helped me through this was being able to bring special little Chinese touches to our wedding day that would reflect a part of my father’s ethnic background — from the Buddha name card holders and Chinese takeout boxes for the candy table, to my favorite part of the night — the flying Chinese lanterns — I knew there wouldn’t be a moment of the day that I could look at these things and not smile.

Every part of our wedding day, I had my hands on. Even if we could have afforded an event planner, I probably would have had a hard time letting someone else take control! With a small budget and a beautiful blank canvas to work with, I let my creativity run wild. I found many of my DIY ideas from websites such as Style Me Pretty and Etsy. Some of my favorite projects my fiancé and I worked on were the sign for the flip-flops and basket (Kick off your heels and stay a while!), the Mr. & Mrs. chair signs, the wedding tree thumbprint picture (I painted the tree), the signature sangria drink sign, and our personal favorite: the ceremony/reception sign that my fiance made and I painted!

Our wedding day was hectic because we had to get everything done without seeing each other until I walked down the aisle, but I think it just made the day more unforgettable. The vibe of the day was exactly what we wanted: everyone (else) was relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed the natural beauty of the environment and decor. Every little thing fell into place, and, not to sound like every other bride, but the day just flew by! There were so many memories from our special day that I know we will cherish forever, and one of the most important ones will be that my mother-in-law was there with us. Six days after our wedding, she passed away. Life is short, but sweet. Even though my father was not with us, my mother (and sister) were, and Dave had both his parents with us on our special day. Family is the most important part of who we are, and with all of our loved ones surrounding us, we couldn’t have asked for anything more. My advice to all the brides to be out there: its OK to sweat the small stuff (in private, of course!), and you know how you swallow an elephant? One bite at a time. :)
