Wedding trends come and go, but some things will always be in style, including all-white weddings like this one from Hunter Ryan Photo. From Hunter Ryan PhotoLauren, being born and raised a Florida girl, just knew she’d have her wedding in South Florida. What she didn’t know is that it would end up being a destination wedding for many – including herself – after following her dreams to start her life in Chicago. Her life in Chicago which includes being right next to the sweet guy who stole her heart 6 years prior at Homecoming in college, Dave. He lights her up like no one can and it was beautifully apparent on their wedding day. Witnessing love as a photographer – we see so much – we observe – we capture. Lauren and Dave? They were so fully engaged in one another, the moment, their wedding day -that we just got to capture the love from the outside that they had in their own sweet little world that day. These two are the absolute perfection of a Barbie & Ken couple – but their beautiful hearts and kindness far outshadows the outward beauty – and we could not be happier for them and a lifetime of love!!

Lauren’s main focus was sharing with their closest friends and family in their faith and love. She’s so careful to make sure everyone else is perfectly taken care of and having a good time. Lauren is such a classic beauty and her entire aesthetic reflected that. The entire day was a soft white garden party feel. Winter in Florida is such amazing weather (compared to her windy city!) that they chose the outdoor lawn/garden area for their ceremony at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point. Beautiful draping ushered in guests and the bride alike with soft white florals and greenery. The reception moved indoors and yet kept the same airy garden feel with tall white floral centerpieces and hanging greenery, greenery garland runners on the head table and lots of elegant candlelight and mercury glass.

Gold & Navy Inspiration Shoot from Fabulously Chic Weddings + Jamie Lee Photography

When glamorous nautical-inspired details, a breathtaking setting (hello Hyatt Regency Coconut Point) and a team of top-notch Florida vendors combine for a dreamy inspiration shoot, this is what happens.  A beautiful lesson in elegance styled to perfection by Fabulously Chic Weddings and captured in amazing images by Jamie Lee Photography.  It’s stunning navy and gold hues meets all kinds of awesome, with just a touch of the Great Gatsby.  See it all in the full gallery.

From Fabulously Chic Weddings… When Jamie of Jamie Lee Photography approached me about the shoot, and mentioned the Gatsby glam look, I knew I had to be a part of whatever was to come. We both agreed that we love the look, but we wanted a fresh take on the oh-so-popular Gatsy glam. We wanted the overall feel to be glamorous, but still bring in some nautical/beachy elements. I’m a huge fan of texture, and find it very fitting for a beachside affair. Gold is so hot right now, and what says nautical more than navy?

The gown was an easy choice. We knew we wanted something flowy, elegant and romantic, with a lot of texture. The Allure gown was the perfect fit. The flowly texture of the organza looked like waves… very elegant waves! We also loved that the color was a very soft taupe-gold shade.

For the groom, we wanted him to look dapper, so we had to go with the bow tie and suspenders. The excellent fitting tan tux is from a new men’s line by Allure. In addition, the navy color of the bow tie and suspenders brought in that touch of bold we were wanting.

For the ceremony location, we used the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point’s private island. We all agreed that brides are not taking advantage of this gorgeous location, but private beaches are few and far between! We wanted the ceremony to feel bold, yet still elegant, and of course, glamorous. The navy runner was a bit of a daring selection, but it looked just as fabulous as we thought it would! It ended up being a very overcast day (we almost got rained out multiple times), but the soft colors of the overcast sky ended up working really well with our vision! The white and ivory blend of florals (ivory roses, white stock, hydrangea and freesia) by Libby’s Flowers nicely framed the aisle, with the phalaenopsis orchids really bringing in the elegance.

For the cocktail hour, we were beyond excited to be able to do it right on the sand. The navy sequin linens were the perfect (over the top) touch of glam that the cocktail location on the beach needed. The cocktail tables were topped with super cute gold shells, with small floral arrangements coming out. We brought in beautiful lounge furniture, from Swanky Event Rentals, in a sandy color, with unique gold end tables. The Hyatt Regency provided ridiculously pretty hors’d’oeuvres: lobster claw cocktail, tropical ceviche in a martini glass with a plantain chip, watermelon cubes with feta cheese and brunoise of cucumber and mint, and beef carpaccio cones with truffled oil and sea salt. The Hyatt also mixed up our fun signature drinks- Fresh Mint Margaritas and Watermelon Martinis (recipe below).

Ingredients include: 1/4 cup chopped mint, 2 cups crushed ice, 3⁄4 cup tequila, 1⁄2 cup fresh lime juice, 1⁄2 cup triple sec
Watermelon Martini
Ingredients include: 3 oz citrus vodka, 1oz Watermelon Pucker, 1/2oz Cointreau or triple sec, 1 splash lemonade, 1 splash sprite/7up

For the reception, we really wanted to glam it up (have I used the word glam enough yet?)! We found the amazing gold chargers and coral-like candle sticks at Z Gallerie. They were so interesting and elegant, exactly what we were looking for! The La Tavola linen, Isabella in midnight blue, added a lot of texture and contributed to the elegance of the overall look, which was very important for our vision. We added a ton of gold accents from flatware, to place cards (compasses), to votives. The gorgeous cake was designed by Courtney Shaw of Fabulously Chic Weddings and created by the Hyatt. The adorable cake topper from The Pink Owl Gifts on Etsy was one of our favorite details from the day. The first dance took place under the stars and was illuminated by cafe lighting and a simple, gold chandelier.

At the end of the day, we loved the outcome of the shoot and felt it went beyond our expectations! Many thanks to all of the amazing vendors who were involved!
