Is there anything better on the planet than a gorgeous Florida wedding? After spotting this pretty day captured by Jessica Bennett Photography, we think not. A lovely bride and groom, the most perfect vintage elements woven throughout and an abundance of scrumptious flowers crafted by Colonial Florist – these are just a few of the yummy details to make an appearance at this Highland Manor soirée and we are over the moon with each and every single piece. From Jessica Bennett Photography: Tom and Marissa Nixon, by far one of the best couples I have worked with and had an amazing wedding party. They were married at the Highland Manor in Orlando, FL on March 21, 2011, their 7 year anniversary. Marissa had every detail planned out and they together with the help of groomsmen and bridesmaids made most of the decor themselves. One of my favorite details was where Marissa used the lace from her mothers wedding dress on her shoes, around the bouquets and on the bridesmaids dresses.

What a lovely wedding. Love the way they integrated the old tech into their theme... too great
Where is the veil from?? Thanks!
Wonderful wedding! Love the bridesmaids lace belts and pearl necklaces...where did you find each of them?
This wedding is beautiful! I wish Highland Manor was still open!
Hello! I love your wedding! So inspirational! I'm wondering how you made your ceremony programs?! I want to do somethign different and love yours! Would you mind sharing?!
I love to see friends work and a wedding in writing! Love this couple, this photographer and the videographer!
Thank you so much Jessica for submitting this and SMP for posting! Tom and I are so grateful to everyone - wonderful family, amazing friends, and phenomenal vendors - who helped make this day as beautiful as it was. We seriously couldn't have done it without you, and are so thankful to have had so much love poured into our wedding day. Love you all!
Marissa Nixon
Laura, the actual veil was borrowed from one of my bridesmaids (thank you Danielle!) but the flower headpiece was from etsy: www.etsy.com/shop/heknowsmyname
Alexis, the lace "belts" were just lace fabric I found randomly on artfire.com (search lace under vintage). 6 yards for $10! The specific lace I had was from a sweet lady in the Carolinas who sent a QUARTER with the lace because she "overcharged" on shipping. Gotta love Southern hospitality. :)
The necklaces were from good ol' forever 21.
Jleigh, you can still book at Highland Manor! Dubsdread has taken over the venue which is fantastic to hear as they have a great reputation.
Erica, the programs my husband actually made by downloading fonts from dafont.com. My mom had a patterned paper cutter she used and tied the ribbon/lace to a corner of each program. If you contact me, I can actually email you our program to use as a template if you'd like!
We literally hand made almost everything - from photo walls to string lighting to boutonnieres and everything in between. If you need help with decor, crafting, creating, etc, please don't hesitate to ask! We spent so much time planning our wedding and would love to give the help. :) http://www.facebook.com/nixon.marissa
I love high key shots against the afternoon sun and photoshop action to make it antique. Very nice photos!
Thanks, SMP for this post! Ramy, thanks! I don't use actions on my pictures, the antique looking shots were taken with 35mm film on a 1983 Nikon F Series camera.
Here's a shout-out to Stout WoodWorks: they made my wedding band out of solid english oak! You can see it in the typewriter picture: fitting since we were married under an oak tree!
Such a wonderful family owned business, and the rings are an amazing alternative to metal. Marissa & I have a branch from the tree and are hoping to get a pair of rings made from it!
