I promised you guys a beautiful wedding and I am here to deliver. But I didn’t pick this wedding because it was beautiful. I picked it because it was so stinking FUN. And the bride is exactly what I want to look like in my next life. And the whimsical details, swoon worthy. Captured by Jenny photography shot the day beautifully though the real icing on the already pretty cake was that the bride found lots of her inspiration from SMP. Which I love. Clearly.
We’ve picked a few of our favorites from the day but you can see the whole shebang right here!

The day was beautiful and lovely and so many other things but what really struck me was 1. the bride’s awesome sense of style and 2. the pure joy that was radiating from this couple. Jenny filled us in on a few details…the little paper cranes that were tucked in every corner signified the couple’s love of China. Their best friend actually married them. They played a recording of April’s grandfather singing the Lord’s prayer during the ceremony. And lastly, the couple was having the time of their lives. Doesn’t that sounds so perfect??

Her dress is amazing- that back is so unique! I love her shoes too :)
love this. stunning! where are the spectacular pink shoes from??? must have! :)
This is awesome... it's everything I want in a wedding! Including those green bridesmaid dresses. Anyone know the designer? I can't figure it out and that's the EXACT shade of green I want!
WOW, I live in Boca and never knew about Mizner Country Club's potential. Beautiful. Love the cake too. And the fun pictures on the carousel - do you know where those were taken by chance?
The bride is radiant - that goes w/o saying.
Where are those shoes from?!? MUST HAVE!
I'd also like to know where the bridesmaids dresses came from! Beautiful wedding!
She has wonderful style. She and her bridesmaids look classicly stunning. Love her shoes!
What fun. LOVE the first shot!
Again, about the bridesmaid dresses... they look like Priscilla of Boston, but those don't come in green! So confused, haha.
Oooh love the bridesmaids' dresses and the beautiful bow on the back of her dress. So elegant and sweet.
Oh, so gorgeous! And very fun indeed!
Such a beautiful Wedding! This is one of my favorites for sure!
So beautiful!!
Love those cute little arangements.. Love the stripes!
Whoa! What gorgeous details!!! Happy brides are so beautiful ;-)
I'm dying to know where the wedding dress is from. If you could update the vendor information at the bottom of the page with more details, that would be GREAT!!!
Amazing Dress!!!!
So lovely! Love origami birds and on the carousel!
I'm loving the wedding gown. Who's the designer?
Hi girls, this is my wedding and thank you so much for all of the compliments. We had a blast! The photos were uploaded by our amazing photographer. Our wedding was planned by Courtney Thomas of Stellar Events, based out of Wilmington, N.C. (www.stellareventsnc.com) and she did an AMAZING job. I highly recommend her, especially if your in the NC area. The bridesmaid dresses are in fact Priscilla of Boston and the color is "Cypress".
I live in China, so I designed my dress myself and had it made by my tailor here. So no vendor to mention for that one. Many of the other items we also made, including centerpiece vases, cranes, backdrop, programs, menus, guest book, etc, etc.
The shoes I actually got from DSW. I had looked for designer shoes and couldn't find ones I liked. I popped into DSW one day and found those for $60. Woo-hoo!
If possible, I'd love any hints or tips about making those gorgeous paper crane placecards! Was there anything in particular you did to make them stand up? Mine always get lopsided :)
And did you cut a little notch on the crane's back to fit the placecard in?
OMGOSH AMAZING! That first image I LOVE LOVE LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Paper Cranes: I used pretty thick origami paper, which made folding them a bit more difficult, however I folded the wings down pretty far to keep them standing up a little straighter. I also stretched the bottom of the body apart a bit. They wouldn't stand completely straight, but honestly, I thought they looked better leaning a little...a more organic look. Yes, I cut a 1/4" notch with a retractable razor, slightly angled from back to front, in the back of the crane and then slid the place card in. I made the place cards from plain card stock, cut into 2" squares and then rounded the corners with a corner punch.
wow! this is beautiful! i absolutely LOVE the dress!!! I can't believe you designed it! Great taste! :)
I discover this site with so much pleasure!!! thanks!
that's so beautiful, il love the dress! wow!
Nichole - If you like the cake, you should definitely consider using Jen at Sugar Chef, she was amazing to work with. The photos on the carousel were taken in the Downtown Delray - Old Schoolhouse area. I believe the carousel was temporarily set up for the holidays.
The cake is perfect. Fits so well with overall feel and mood (which shows through the photography).
And April, Congratulations!
What a gorgeous, colorful day...the photos reflect such joy!! Congratulations!
What a beautiful wedding! I especially liked the bride's dress, and those shoes!
Hi April,
Will you be selling your wedding gown? If not, would you be opposed to allowing your tailor to make a replica of it? It is so beautiful and is everything I would have envisioned for a gown I would want. Feel free to email me at redbikini82 at hotmail dot com. Thanks so much!
I hate to be a pest, but if there is any way you could tell us the brand of the shoes.
i am searching all DSW's, and online, and i can't find them!! they are EXACTLY what i am looking for.
i would be indebted forever....gorgeous gorgeous wedding
Thank you so much for your help! :)
Yes, yes... everything is SO gorgeous, really! I want the veil. I kind of feel like you're being picked apart, like Cinderella when the step sisters came home and ripped apart her everything! That said, I need veil help and I love yours! Any hints??? By the way, I'm not calling anyone a "wicked step sister"!!!
Jen: I am so sorry, the store used to be DSW but I looked online and it changed to Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse. The brand is M.P.S. and the only info inside which could possibly be a style number is: MOI. Things were so crazy right before the wedding when I finally found the shoes that I completely forgot about the name change...hope I didn't inconvenience you too much.
Sally: I don't have any problem being picked apart! Trust me, I know how hard it is to piece together your look. The veil itself was from Etsy vendor TessaKim in the Bandeau style, color Ivory: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=41980940 . She was easy to work with and got the veil out to me in a timely manner. The flower for the veil I purchased separately from H&M for a few dollars, but they also have beautiful ones on Etsy. If you end up getting the flower and veil as a set, I would highly recommend making sure they can be separated because you'll probably want to remove the veil completely for your reception.
THANK YOU!!! no inconvenience at all I'm so grateful!!
Wow, April how nice of you to give us all these fab details! Congratulations to you and your husband! Thank you so much! I will definitely check out the cake vendor you mentioned...and now that you said it, I absolutely remember the carousel being in Old School Square for the holidays. Great ideas! You were a stunning bride, congratulations one million times!
p.s. Why Boca? Is this where your family is? China, and even NC seem like awesome places... :) I had the hardest time finding a great venue in Boca. And we finally signed with The Addison last weekend. :)
Nichole: I'm from Boca and my husband's family is from Michigan, so they were all quite happy to come to South Florida in the middle of winter. A wedding in China would probably be fun, but not without all of our family and friends to enjoy it with us! We did have a large number of people travel from China to the wedding, which was great. The wedding planner, in addition to being awesome at her job, is also one of my best friends, so she came down from NC for the wedding. I have a number of friends who have gotten married/had receptions at The Addison and have loved it. Are you doing the ceremony there too?
Where is that necklace from? I love it!
Ruth: I had it my jewelry and all of the bridesmaids' jewelry made in China.
Hi April.
Wondering if you have any interest in selling those paper crane place card holders?
I LOVE them!!!
Julie: Unfortunately people picked them up and carried them to the table, so we don't have them anymore. For the right price I'd make you new ones! haha! Would have to say that I bought that paper in China and it wasn't cheap, but I didn't see anything I liked as much after checking craft stores in the States. It was thick and had a homemade paper feel to it.
April: I apologize, I don't have alerts set up for this site - sorry for the delay :)
I understand about the location and it's convenience. My future husband's entire family lives in Scotland, and whilst I daydream about a wedding overlooking the gorgeous grassy hills and ancient architecture of Scotland...they dream of beachside margaritas and fun in the sun :) We opted for Florida for the same reason as you did. All of our family, aside from our parents, live out of town and enjoy South Florida.
To answer your question, yes, we are also doing our ceremony at The Addison. I'm really looking forward to it, and hoping for good weather so we can marry under those two gorgeous banyan trees in the courtyard. I think it's going to look so sweet with all of the men in kilts.
Thank you for the cake vendor recommendation, if you have any other local vendor recommendations, I'm very appreciative.
:)
Wow! The cake is so elegant! Love the fact that you had your dress made in China. I have traveled to China twice and fell in love with the people and the country!
Beautiful wedding! I love that tender kiss... the picture of them taken from the back.
