Venice, lovelies, is a magical city.  The kind of city that is brimming with good food, stunning architecture and fabulous culture every which way you turn.  It also happens to be a pretty amazing place to plan a surprise proposal.  The kind of proposal that takes place in a gondola with clear blue skies, the love of your life and the amazing Andrea Kuehnis in tow.  Click here for sooo much more.

From Andrea Kuehnis… You enter Venice and immediately, you get covered with the  blanket of Italian charm, food, Architecture, opera singers and history.

Shannon and Chris were attending a wedding of Chris’ high school friend in Italy, Lake Como, where I was also photographer. Chris contacted me before the event, and told me that he will go on a cruise with his girlfriend after the wedding. Before they went to the cruise ship, they would spend two days in Venice where he will propose to her. Wouldn’t it be great, to have this surprise on photo? Of course, a wedding proposal in one of the most romantic cities in the world, in a gondola? What a wonderful, wonderful surprise for her… and for me, a unique shooting.

We met in the morning and spent the whole day together in Venice for their “photo shoot” (so Shannon was told). Eating ice cream and the Promenade, walking over the tiny bridges and passing stores. Venice is wonderful for photography! You don’t want to stop exploring each and every little corner of it. Shannon got her proposal in a gondola – and she said yes! Going home to their hotel they celebrated with a glass of champagne to their new future together.

Venice, you might go there only once – but it will charm you forever!

From the Groom… When Shannon bought her childhood home from her parents, she discovered my title company and it’s real estate services came in handy. After my boss and her mother conspired, I asked Shannon out and we went to a Cleveland Indians baseball game, a golf tournament and several dinners later we began to date and knew that our sorted pasts had brought us together for some unknown reason.

Shannon loves cruises! She had been on 18 0r 19 cruises prior to us getting together. We took that particular cruise because it was a great way to see bits of Europe and the Mediterranean, without having to know the roads and travel in a bit of luxury. Shannon keeps me organized and on point.  I keep her relaxed and care free.
