From A Dream Wedding…I love the story of how Jamie and Chip met…hasn’t every teenage girl had a crush on her best friend’s older brother? Jamie, the bride, and her best friend, also named Jamie, have been close since sixth grade. The bride’s friend’s brother Chip is six years older so he wasn’t around much while they were growing up. Jamie (the bride!) grew up and graduated from college and she and Chip began spending more time together and came to fall in love. She moved to New York to be with him, and the joining of their two families became complete, including a best friend turned sister.
Jamie and Chip were engaged on vacation in Rome, and that night at dinner, they decided on a destination wedding in California’s wine country. They had wonderful memories of The Carneros Inn having stayed there twice in the past, and it was a natural pick for their beautiful wedding! Jamie describes herself as “indecisive” so she brought her ideas and linen samples to Julie at Julie Stevens Design and she helped them focus their vision and decide on a dark purple and cream color scheme. They loved it, and trusted Julie and her team to bring the day to life. Jamie’s mother passed away almost five years before the wedding so it was very important to honor her throughout the wedding. The bride’s best friend/sister of the groom and their mom made a beautiful locket that was wrapped around Jamie’s bouquet, and her mother was remembered during a special part of the wedding ceremony. Jamie’s necklace was created from one of her mothers’ necklaces, and remains such a special piece that she wears it every day.
