Each and every day on the Destination Weddings Blog, we pore over one dream location after another but I must say, Maui is hard to beat. It is the sheer definition of island paradise and the perfect locale for a glamorous affair like this one crafted by Belle Destination Weddings and Events. Set on a 17 acre property with close friends and family in attendance, this wedding is both intimate and completely stunning. The purple florals, the splash of plumeria, the views while dining and dancing in the tropical air – it was all caught beautifully by Tamiz Photography and there’s so much more where this came from. See it all here!

From the Bride…Like most women, I dreamt about my wedding day since I was a little girl. I pictured a traditional princess-style wedding with all the accoutrement: ball gown dress, big hair…everything you would see in a Disney film. As I grew older, I began to recognize the most important things in life– family and friends – and my (now) husband, Morgan, felt the same way. When it came to planning our wedding, we knew that rather than the traditional wedding “things” we wanted those dearest to us to be the focus of the day.” As a result, my wedding became something much different than I had originally envisioned, and the new vision was so much more than I could have possibly fantasized about as a child.
As we settled into planning a very intimate affair with our dearest friends and immediate family,we really wanted to make our wedding something extraordinary for everyone. Since we chose to have a destination wedding, we also wanted to make the event a meaningful vacation with a wedding rather than just a wedding. Helping us fulfill this vision, we (gratefully) came across a spectacular 17-acre property in Upcountry Maui with two homes, a pool, a tennis court, a beach volleyball court, and many other fabulous amenities located in a sublime setting. It was the perfect venue for our 19-person gathering.
Since the property was so stunning, I wanted to keep the décor minimal so as not to draw focus away from the natural beauty of the island. We used bright, rich purples with a splash of yellow from my favorite flower, plumeria, to honor the vitality of the island while adding an element of fun. On the culinary side, Aloha Events Catering featured dishes such as Kamuela Tomato Bruschetta, Macadamia Nut Prawns, and fresh Mahi Mahi to showcase locally sourced flavors.
Every moment was special during our day – there was much laughter, many tears and countless memories. A memory that stands apart is Morgan and I seeing each other before the ceremony and remembering how excited (and nervous) I was to marry my best friend. Another special memory is dancing in the tropical air with the people I love, being so thankful for such an amazing life.

Your wedding is so beautiful! I am planning a wedding on Maui and would love to ask you some questions about the estate you stayed at. Can I email or face book you my questions? Thanks so much!!!
I love your pictures and must admit that your wedding is my favorite. You can see the comfort, joy, and much ALOHA thru out your day. I agree that the day is to be enjoyed with family and friends and it's about those relationships that make it so special. You both are lovely and transparent and I believe you captured the PRINCESS look , you are regal naturally. MUCH ALOHA

Kimberly and Morgan, you both were an absolute joy to work with. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your special day. It was heart warming to witness your love for each other and your beautiful exchange of vows among your closest friends and family. I wish you a lifetime of happiness!
What a stunning bride (and wedding)! I nearly bought the same dress, but opted for a different one, but still very similar in style. It looks incredible on you! Your words regarding less "things" being the focus of your wedding day really ring true as I am planning my destination wedding as well. It was quite moving to read. Congratulations!
You were such a beautiful bride!! May I ask who did you get to do your hair and make-up!? It looked amazing!
Wow! What a gorgeous bride! We are so happy to have been a part of this amazing Maui wedding. What a handsome couple and the wedding was utter perfection!!!
