When it came to asking my friends and family to be bridesmaids, I’m afraid it was very anticlimactic… just a simple phone call and some squeals. Oh how I wish I had crafted a day like this designed by Sarah Flanagan with florals by Bella Calla and images by Laura Murray. It’s a “Will You Be My Bridesmaid?” wine party, perfect for popping the big question to your besties. Have a look here for more.
When designing for this styled shoot it was fun and laid back … well.. with a lot of wine surrounding us and a beautiful backdrop of the foothills in the distance. I gathered many great vendors in the area. I decided to shoot at Balistreri Vineyard/Winery to expose their new event center space as well as tie in a themes that we all love … wine and weddings.
We approached this styled shoot with a different mind set. Instead of going for the cliche bride and groom look we wanted to do something out of the ordinary and include only the “future” bridal party if you wish. This shoot was a “how -to” on how to ask your bridal party to partake in one of the most important day of your life!
Tips on How To Ask Your Bridal Party:
1. Make a list … check it twice
2. Pick a local place to gather the girls
3. Have a theme that reflects your interests and hobbies as friends . What a better place than a winery!
4. Be creative – we used custom place cards by Anthropologie Press to add a personal touch
5. Ask your best friends! “Will you be my bridesmaid?”
