Inspired by the Mediterranean Color Palette

Inspired by nature and the Mediterranean coast, Ashley Sawtelle captured an environment overflowing with cool tones and vibrant Bare Root Flora blooms. With a refined mix of eclectic dinnerware and tile place cards, this collaboration is fresh yet elegant. From the subtle blue bodice of the A & Bé Bridal Shop dress to the stunning citrus accents a la Calluna Events, the gallery is the place to see it all, here!

From Ashley SawtelleWe wanted to create an environment inspired by nature and the old world charm of the Mediterranean coast – cool tones of green and blue paired with the vibrant colors of the surrounding flora, botanicals and fruit.

Blooms and textures in our deep fuchsia color palette, citrus accents and natural wood grain elements were incorporated against a clean background for an updated look. Azure Silk & Willow ribbons bound the bouquet. And the table scape evoked something old and something new with tall tapered candles, a refined mix of eclectic dinnerware pieces and tile place cards. Gold accents in the flatware, candlesticks and candle holders grounded the palate.

The vendors in the collaboration contributed unique design pieces that tied in with the overall theme. Twinkle & Toast provided the tile place cards, escort cards, sign and invitation suite and designed a custom pattern throughout each piece. Sugar Breck used real ribbon from Silk and Willow on the base of the cake. And hand painted tile cookies added a sweet touch to the theme.

Eclectic Hive provided a Indian wedding wood table and aged, mismatched wood chairs. They also provided the sheepskin rug which balanced out the raw concrete floor and white brick background.

Alchemy Mineral Blends used light, spring colors from their new collection to show a fresh and dewy completion for our bride against her dark, Mediterranean features. A simple gold and diamond wedding band and diamond and gold studs were provided by Angie Star Jewelry.

We chose an elegant, yet simple two piece wedding dress from Rebecca Schoneveld and veil by Sara Gabriel, both found at a & bé Bridal in Denver, CO. We loved the subtle blue in the bodice of the dress which tied in the blue from the rest of the shoot.

Modern Mid-Century Wedding Inspiration

Give me an industrial space filled with Eames chairs and pretty blooms and you’ll have one happy wedding Blogger on your hands. Combining my love for all things mid-century modern, this styled editorial is done oh-so-right. From the stunning blooms brought to life by Yonder Floral & Decor House, to the intricate A & Be Bridal Shop gown, Rachel Havel captured every bright color here!

From Rachel HavelThe design this inspiration came from a movement into mid century modern designs and clean lines. The combination of our lush floral designs and curated tabletop collections paired with the new hairpin leg reception tables make for a new movement to artful table designs with minimalistic, but impactful décor and the design elements in the table settings. Our décor house offers one of a kind polished lounge sets and are refined and elevated with the addition of our floral designs. The floral and décor house pair beautifully to produce unique ceremony seating and design elements for lush, vintage inspired designs with a refined palette and style.

Elegant Backyard Summer Wedding

I believe a bit of Southern charm is always welcomed, no matter where you reside. This elegant Denver wedding added just the right amount of Southern style and with Cori Cook leading the way with florals and We Tie The Knots orchestrating it all, we have here one gorgeous wedding, captured by Rachel Havel. As I brainstorm ways to add a touch of Southern flair to my own nuptials, this gallery is where I’ll be.

From Rachel Havel… Rebecca & Clay wanted an elegant wedding with a relaxed and fun atmosphere. The wedding took place at their local church with the reception held at Rebecca’s family estate. Their styling was clean and modern with touches of Clay’s southern routes intertwined throughout the decor, including Clay wearing a seersucker suit for the reception and Rebecca slipping into some cowgirl boots. With hang in chandeliers, modern linens, and festive bow ties, this couples wedding was to die for.

Above all else, Rebecca & Clay share a genuine love for each other and the community they have built together over the years, and their wedding was first and foremost about their new lives together.

From the Stylist..During the holidays, I look for any excuse to throw a party. Inspiration for weddings and events is abundant. With the greenery from trees and wreaths, every party can be a pretty one (and usually is!).

After seeing this new Lavish Laurel invitation suite by Wedding Paper Divas, a wreath-making bridal shower seemed only natural. Designed by Whitney Port, the watercolor greenery from the invitation served as inspiration for the rest of the shoot. We kept everything on the greener side and accented with gold touches and other holiday objects like ornaments and cinnamon sticks.

A garland made from cedar, olive, bayleaf, and eucalyptus ran down the center of the table along with a variety of tealights in white, gold, and green. Each place setting was adorned with a miniature emerald or chartreuse ornament, and tied off with gold ribbon and a cinnamon stick.

What really made this so amazing was all the floral posies and arrangements. We decided to forego the traditional “bride” sash, and opted for a sweet floral crown and corsage. A garland of bay leaf was attached to the back of each chair to dress up each seat.

Of course, no event is complete without tasty desserts. We snacked on DIY watercolored French macarons, glittered gingerbread cookies, and donuts with edible gold leaf. The classiness of the donut just went up 20 notches! Small kraft boxes filled with extra gingerbread cookies were topped with pine wreaths for take home if your sweet tooth wasn’t satisfied! In keeping with the green and gold theme, Wedding Paper Divas also offers napkins and coasters in a plethora of colors and designs. These hunter green ones fit our color story perfectly!

Each guest was given all the supplies to make a 10-inch floral wreath. It’s a fool-proof project when tying holiday greenery together! A few ranunculas and blue thistle helped break things up and add a touch of whimsy. The girls had such a great time catching up over a table of cedar and blooms. What a relaxing way to spend an afternoon and celebrate the upcoming nuptials of a friend!

Elegant and Ethereal Inspiration Shoot at Highlands Ranch Mansion

I’m pretty sure that whatever the lovely Rhiannon of Hey Gorgeous Events touches turns into inspiration gold. Actually I am positive. And when she teams up with the super talented Sara Hasstedt Photography, there is no question I will have a “I’m not worthy” moment with their work. Because sitting in this gallery is a masterpiece in feature form, and you can see butter and citrus inspired goodness here.

From Hey Gorgeous EventsWhen Sara Hasstedt and I first came up with some ideas for our creative collaboration (she is based in Colorado and I in Michigan and we somehow managed to find one another!), we decided to combine our shared feminine and dreamy aesthetic to create a tailored yet flirty editorial project. The idea of ‘Butter and Citrus’ as our design inspiration quickly became our favorite direction to take and with that you see this final product here, the pairing together of buttery soft yellow tones, and bright summery shades of citrus. To add dimension and visual interest I used lots of texture with the various linens and floral varieties while keeping things both understated and traditional in other areas – like silver flatware, classic china, upholstered chairs, and a gown and veil from Little White Dress that ooze with timelessness. The stunning paper and calligraphy from Jenny Sanders and the sweet (literally!) desserts from Yours Truly Cupcake carried through on the subtle aesthetic theme we dreamt up, while our real life couple brought the right amount of love and style to an already gorgeous day full of simplicity and sweetness.
