Summer Aspen Mountain Wedding

Ever since my trip to the Rocky Mountains last month, I’ve been not-so-secretly planning my return. Not only was I taken with the sweeping views and natural beauty, but this state happens to be home to some amazing creatives like Robin Proctor and Bluebird Productions who sent along this Aspen beauty. Get ready pretties, because this peek is only the beginning!

From Bluebird Productions… We adored working with Sara and Jacob and their respective families on their gorgeous Aspen, CO wedding summer of 2013. We first met with them on a very snowy wintery day with site tours to various venues via Snowmobile! They chose the top of Aspen Mountain for their very naturally elegant wedding. We incorporated their mixed Christian and Jewish faiths in the ceremony and their Southern roots in the stationed and heavy cocktail style of the reception. Everything from the food to décor selections enhanced the natural beauty of the venue while remaining very Colorado in feel yet true to the couple.

Elegant Aspen Wedding with Boho Flair

This is what we call a bohemian approach to glamour and it’s met its match in the mountains of Aspen. With elements like a long lace dress from the Queen of boho herself, Rachel Zoe, an impossibly gorgeous outdoor setting and a Bride with a flower in her hair – this is perfection as seen through the lens of Sarah Joelle Photography and you can catch even more right here.

Beth & Jesse’s wedding was simply elegant with a little bohemian flair. They both love the outdoors and head to the mountains every chance they get so a destination wedding in Snowmass seamed like a perfect fit!

From the Bride…The biggest priority for our wedding was for our guests to enjoy themselves, since most of them were coming from out of state. We wanted to show them the beautiful Colorado scenery without having to drive very far from the wedding venue. The Viceroy in Snowmass worked out perfect for this. All of our guests stayed at the hotel and both the wedding and reception were held there as well. The location provided opportunities to be active outdoors or to site see in nearby Aspen.

Jesse and I had decided from the beginning that we wanted something other than the typical church wedding with tuxedos and a 3 tier cake (especially because we don’t like cake or tuxedos :)). We wanted something more unique and personalized without spending a fortune. Our goal was to make it as easy as possible for our wedding party. The bridesmaids picked their own dresses in a blush shade and our groomsmen wore their own grey pants and white shirts. I got my Rachel Zoe dress new with tags for a steal on Ebay and had it reconstructed to add an open back. I wanted something simple and elegant with a little bit of sexy. It was so comfortable! Many of the brides I had seen over the years had similar dresses: strapless, aline, taffeta. I’m glad mine was different. A real flower hairpiece was something I dreamed of but could not purchase anywhere, so I looked up how to make one on Pinterest and did just that! It really added a bohemian vibe to my lace dress.

Jesse and I saved a lot of money by purchasing all of our vases and picture frames at a thrift store and also by doing a lot of DIY, such as the invites, programs, escort cards and photo booth. I think the most cost efficient choice we made however was ordering our flowers at Whole Foods. We paid about a fourth of the price and the flowers were absolutely gorgeous! I bought gold ribbon for the bouquets and designed all of the table arrangements myself. Another DIY was our welcome bags for our guests. I ordered a bulk supply of plain tote bags and hand painted each one with a simple mountain scene. We filled the bags with goodies from Colorado such as local beer and Chocolove bars.

We were fortunate to have great weather and the sun came out just as we were reading our hand written vows. It was my favorite moment of the whole day. Jesse and I were surrounded by our closest friends and family and everyone had a great time. It was a dream come true!

Aspen, CO Wedding at The St. Regis Aspen Resort

Aspen has always been a destination I dreamed about, so when I see a wedding hosted in that gorgeous mountain town, I drop everything I am doing to soak in every second of the soiree. And when that Aspen wedding happens to be captured by the one and only Samuel Lippke Studios, well I set aside an entire afternoon to get lost in all the gorgeous. Because a wedding this stunning needs some serious attention, and you can join me in the swoon-fest right here.

From Samuel Lippke StudiosAlexa & Brett were married on August 31st of this year at The St. Regis Aspen Resort. Their wedding was an absolute dream. The day was complete with unimaginable mountain views and the most delicate florals in a neutral color palate. The bride, Alexa, designs custom jewelry, which she & her bridesmaids all wore for the big day. We love her ability to find beauty in simplicity! Of course there was a brilliant team on board for the day including coordinator – Jane Floyd, event designer – The Aspen Branch, and Samuel’s right hand man, assistant Micah Cordy. Samuel Lippke Studios was so honored to be part of Alexa & Brett’s wedding! Please enjoy our favorite moments form the day!
