From Jemma Keech…I am trying to incorporate more film into my work, so I did this inspirational wedding shoot. I chose a pretty palette of soft pinks and creams – colors that I know perfectly suit beautiful, creamy film. We did the shoot amongst the old street-scapes in Fremantle, Western Australia.

From the bride … Planning our wedding was a process that started with an intimate beachside ceremony and evolved to a three-day celebration at my family’s ranch. Once we chose the venue, the rest of the pieces started to fall into place. Chris and I wanted it to be quality, with good music, good food, and good drinks. For us, the ultimate key to enjoying the process was the vendors, and we were incredibly fortunate to compile an amazing team that understood our vision and ran with it.

We were married on a rustic arbor build by my father.  My mother drove me in horse & buggy to the wedding; she and our friend also sang at our ceremony. Our florist created a scene at the ceremony site with a simple heart shaped flower out of butter mums hanging from an old cabin door, orchids hanging from the pine trees, and a white rose petal scroll down the aisle.

Following a short cocktail hour with a local three piece jazz band, the reception kicked off with a Rat Pack cover band. A dinner buffet followed. Most impressive was how good the food was, especially because the caterers were not working with a full commercial kitchen! The head table was decorated by our florist, Blooms by Martha Andrews. The key to pulling it all together was having an amazing coordinator who poured her heart and soul into our wedding.

Despite all of the stress and time involved with planning such an event, Chris and I feel that it could not have been a better celebration or a better weekend with those we love.

We weren’t quite done with this lovely fest, so when we heard the talented team at Vantage Point Films was on hand for the wedding, and had an amazingly beautiful highlight film, we were all over that. Want to see it?

From Jubilee Events … Melissa and Peter were married on a chilly November evening in Greenwich on the harbor, with a beautiful vintage / deco wedding style. Their ceremony was held in a local church with 200 of their closest family and friends. The altar was dressed with two massive fall foliage trees dripping with candles and lanterns as designed by Datura – A Modern Garden. The aisles were flanked with custom iron lanterns and nearly 200 candles.

Melissa and Peter’s reception was held at L’escale, a world famous restaurant in downtown Greenwich with the most delicious french food! Guests dined in a ballroom filled with thousands of candles and gorgeous long and round tables with beautiful branch centerpieces.

From Datura – A Modern Garden … It was clear from the first moment I met Melissa that her bouquet had to be something special. We chose white paphiopedilum orchids which were so fresh and perfect, we decided to accent them with only a single green trick dianthus at the center and a few spirals of grass at the base. For her attendants, we chose bronze cymbidium stems with uluhe fern shoots and grass.

For the ceremony, we brought in 14 foot beech trees at their autumn peak and strung Moroccan lanterns from the branches. We lined the aisle with fresh autumn leaves and accented with over sized lanterns.

At L’escale, we chose two centerpiece styles: we countered a white orchid and candle component composition in slender stemware and gathering vases with an art-deco style branch centerpiece strung with white vanda orchids and votives in blown glass globes. For their sweetheart table, we designed a custom branch cascade with willow and orchids.

I am one of those brides who has been planning my wedding in my head since before I can remember, but after the excitement from the engagement settled down… sheer fear took over! I had only planned such an event in my head and I was at a loss as to how I would begin to turn my dream wedding into a reality. I did not want to start off the planning process by giving our wedding limits and since I have never planned a wedding before I knew I had a challenge ahead of me. I began by creating a list of what we wanted and what we did not want. All I knew was that I wanted something elegant, fun, original and personal.

We did not want a particular “theme”or color (!) or a wedding that looked like any wedding our guests had ever seen before. In fact, many would call me crazy as I started the wedding planning process for our January 15th, 2011 wedding. We had thirteen bridesmaids and thirteen groomsmen all wearing a different color. (I assigned a color to each bridesmaid or groomsmen that I thought fit their personality!) I gave each bridesmaid a matching clutch and the boys wore a matching pocket squar. Our florist, Cori Cook Floral Design, took on many of the wedding details … in particular, the thirteen beautiful bouquet and boutonnieres pairs, each completely unique from the other.

For our wedding venue, the moment we saw the Grand Hyatt of Denver, we knew it was the perfect location for us. It had the perfect atmosphere ~ from the 38th floor, we were surrounded by a complete 360 view of Denver! Although our wedding featured a rainbow of colors, we didn’t want it to feel like a rainbow-themed wedding. In fact, everything besides the wedding party and our beautiful candy bar (also designed by Cori Cook Floral Design), was ivory, black, gold and champagne in color … including our five-tiered cake made by the Grand Hyatt. The cake was one-half carrot cake and one-half oreo cookie cake with a few thin black frosted swirls.

We chose champagne colored satin chair covers to compliment our centerpieces. I went to second hand shops all around Colorado looking for antique style tea cups to stack. Cori stacked the tea cups and created a flower arrangement with a little flag reading “celebrate”inside the top of each tea cup. They were everything I had hoped for and unlike anything I had ever seen before! They totally added the whimsy, vintage, elegance that I was looking for. We tied it together with the mad hatter character making appearances here and there. He topped the menus that my parents and sister made, complimented our black and white checkered dance floor and was the main subject in one of the five paintings I made to decorate the cocktail hour.

When I began our wedding planning process, I was relatively new to Denver. I was nervous about finding vendors that fit for me. Now, I truly feel like the luckiest girl in the world!  I believe that I found the absolute best! The Grand Hyatt’s views, food and services out-did all of my expectations. Monsignor Peter Quang Nguyen was the perfect officiant for our ceremony at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. The Little White Dress, where I found my Chia Lieu lace dress made the day I spent shopping with my mom one of the most magical days to date. Our florist, Cori Cook Floral Design , encouraged and filtered my off the wall ideas and turned each of them into something more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. Our photographer, Laura Murray not only takes the most beautiful wedding photos, but helped coordinate a schedule for the day. She was a positive energy to have around and on point throughout the day and all the months leading to our big day. I feel so blessed to have found the vendors I did, it made the whole planning process one hundred percent enjoyable.

When I was tired and in need of inspiration, when I was confused and needed ideas … Style Me Pretty guided me through. I checked Style Me Pretty two or three times a day to see if there were any new weddings posted. Before I knew it, the year was over and the wedding of my dreams was here. I don’t think I would have changed a thing. My sincere thanks to Style Me Pretty!

from Maggie Gillespie … I loved doing this vibrant June wedding in the Texas Hill Country overlooking Enchanted Rock for this beautiful young couple. He was signed as a ballplayer for the University of Texas, so we had the bride’s favorite flower blooming in a riot of burnt orange and red red rose…. and the groom’s cake made in the shape of a catcher’s mitt. Trois Estate supplied their delicious food and eclectic taste, expansive views and attentive service. I had the gorgeous antique goddess doorway came abloom for the ceremony with hundreds of American Beauty roses…even more lovely as the evening deepened and the lights came up, fragrancing the courtyard… a wonderful setting for the wedding service at dusk! The staff changed out the church pews for dance floor and additional dining space while the guests had cocktails on the upper deck with breathtaking views of Enchanted Rock at sunset painting the sky. The bride loved peonies, reds (and of course burnt orange!) so I had big red Chilean peonies and orange makara orchids flown in for the bouquets. Iron lanterns hung in the courtyard’s oak tree and also were filled with flowers on guest tables. A great band played upstairs over the open courtyard to the dancers below with long tables set for dinner upstairs, lit with more large lanterns, aglow in candlelight and flowers, toasts and laughter. We had a cigar roller (with personalized cigar bands,) wonderful walks and carriage rides through the artisan village of Trois Estate and incredibly long sparklers from Nuevo Laredo to light up the night at their exit. We had shuttle busses take the wedding guests back to their hotels and b & b’s in nearby Fredericksburg while the clear night’s stars and full moon continued the enchanted evening’s glow.

Amanda and Eric have a passion for all things geological and used this detail to weave throughout their wedding decor that gave it that special touch! Geologic specimens (ummmm ~ rocks!) marked the tables, were used in her bouquet (!), the boutonnieres, and were the cohesive element that tied it all together.

Amanda worked with Krislyn Design in Los Angeles to create her custom bouquet ~ containing pieces of coral, balsa wood flowers, Barite Rose and crystals.

Jody’s Pantry and The JPC Event Group worked their culinary magic and made the menu an experience … a magnificent experience!

The Mansion is located just outside Pittsburgh. With it’s lush gardens and a picture perfect day, we couldn’t have asked for anything better! After a butlered cocktail hour, the JPC Event Group served a three course farm-to-table fall harvest dinner. The tables inside were set with taffeta Colchester Pintuck linens in platinum. Amanda and her ‘assistants’ crafted napkin rings out of balsa wood flowers. For the table marker holders, she bent aluminum wire into the perfect shape to display various mineral and rock specimens.

We created the wedding cake to mirror the bodice of Amanda’s Monique Lhuillier gown ~ white chocolate fondant, silver lustred hand-cut hydrangea blossoms and garnishes. Guest favors were “chocolate rocks” from The Chocolate Shop in Smicksburg, Pennsylvania.

Amanda and Eric did a wonderful job of ballroom dancing during their first dance to the sounds of the Boilermaker Jazz Band. Overall ~ just a lovely day full of elegance and personal touches that were captured in lovely style by Kristen Penner Photography.

Eric and I are both geologists, collecting rocks is often the primary motivation for our trips! We decided that instead of table numbers, we would use rock and mineral samples that we collected to label the tables. We had halite from a trip to New Mexico, garnite and wollastonite from New York, pumice and ventifact from our travels to Iceland, aquamarine from Maine, breccia from Virginia, coral from Hawaii, and amphibolite from New Zealand! At the reception, as we visited each table, we enjoyed telling our stories about how we found “their” rock. And then, on our honeymoon, we collected even more rock samples!

From Kristeen LaBrot … From the moment Hillary first described their wedding, I knew this was going to be fun. They wanted their wedding to be a unique mixture of the country and the beach since Hillary grew up around the ocean and Matt’s a mountain guy. In Hillary’s words, she wanted their wedding to evoke the feelings of “a country home with the ocean as the backyard.” Scripps Seaside Forum in La Jolla was the perfect location. The ceremony took place with an ocean backdrop on a big green grass lawn. Guests sipped iced tea and cocktails, and munched on cheeses from around the world. At the reception, each table had it’s own unique mix of floral arrangements displayed in vintage glass bottles which popped against the ice blue shantung silk linens. The seating arrangements on multicolored fabric squares were hung on vintage wooden shutters.The guest book was a thumbprint tree with a sign asking guests to “please leaf your thumbprint.” The bride and groom are both world travelers and huge foodies so they chose to have Thai, Indian AND Mexican food stations. Sliders and fries were served as a late night snack followed by It’s it ice cream sandwiches, ending the night on a sweet note.

From Jessica ~ Lush centerpieces sat on top of beautiful curvy vases with white orchids submerged in water of pink hydrangea, ‘Faith’ and ‘Anna’ roses, with white cymbidium orchids submerged in water. For the low centerpieces, the same flowers were designed in a low dish and placed on footed cake dishes that Lord Thompson Manor had. The bride’s hand tied bouquet of ‘Patience’ garden roses, ivory roses and white cymbidium orchids with pink throats. We wrapped it with a wide ivory satin ribbon and detailed of French knots. The bridesmaids carried simplistic yet very pretty bouquets of ‘Cool water’, ‘Faith’ and ‘Anna’ roses. Wrapped partially with ivory satin ribbon and sheer pale pink ribbon of French knots.

From the Beautiful Bride:
The Manor is such a unique venue in that we spent the entire weekend on the property and everything (including the rehearsal dinner on Friday night, the After Party-after the wedding on Saturday night, and Brunch on Sunday) all took place there. The Manor has about 40 acres and two properties. The main property is the actual Manor where there are 6 guest rooms (Adam and I, our parents, etc… stayed in the Manor) and the other property being the Cottage House, located about 1 mile up the road in the center of Thompson, has another 7 guest rooms as well as a spa.

The entire property was exclusively ours for the weekend so it makes it very stress free to know you don’t have to run all over the place to the church, another place to take pics, etc…. everything was right there!

Adam is from NY and my family is from the other side of CT so we knew people would need to travel. The Manor was the perfect setting to get all of our family and friends together in a rural setting without any other distractions. The guys hung out at the Manor on Saturday and played games in the huge backyard while my bridesmaids and I got ready in the spa at the Cottage House. (You can see hair/makeup at the spa in some of Alissa’s pics) The pictures of me getting dressed are actually in one of the guest rooms at the Cottage House. The clean white linens and beautiful wood floors make for the perfect backdrop for the ‘getting ready’ shots!

The Manor is very secluded and feels very homey but is also a VERY romantic setting for a wedding with statues throughout the gardens and vines crawling up the side of the house. I wanted my girls in long flowy chiffon gowns so it looked like they were just floating as they glided down the isle. I thought that pink roses were the perfect flowers to go with my ‘romantic’ theme. Having 4 flower girls, 2 being much younger, it worked perfectly to have the two older girls carry the balls of light pink roses (loved them!) and to have the little ones throw petals out of their baskets. I loved how the guys all had orchids to match the orchids that were in my bouquet as well as the tall centerpieces. It all tied together perfectly!

Some sentimental things: I held my grandmother’s necklace around my bouquet and the necklace I was wearing was something we had our jeweler make from jewelry that Adam’s mother had given us.

The weather was absolutely perfect and was definitely the perfect final touch to, what was to me, an absolute fairy tale wedding. I could not ask for anything more: a unique and amazing venue, beautiful flowers, and perfect weather!!!
