For some reason last week, I found myself poring over our Little Black Book members blogs … looking at cakes and candy buffets and cookies … couldn’t shake my sweet tooth! Here are a few of my favorite finds …
Kakes by Karen is located in Naples, Florida … I LOVE the chic designs and delicate work that went into these cakes!
Here’s what Karen says about her creations on her website, “We pride ourselves in making hand elaborated, custom-made cakes that are never refrigerated, providing our customers a promise of freshness. Our cakes are decorated in high quality, glycerin free, delicious rolled fondant. Each cake is designed separately, working with the client, using only fresh ingredients to ensure quality. Some of our designs have been influenced and inspired by techniques learned from international chefs, as well as various judges and Food Network Cake Challenge winners.”
I have this thing for perfect cakes. Really simple, sweet cakes that scream style. When I spotted these little beauties, designed by Sweet and Saucy Shop, I found a huge smile that I just couldn’t put away!
For me, the best cakes are those that are edited, tailored and timeless. Those that are inspired by fashion, by design, by all things chic. And Sweet and Saucy just has that touch!
The queen of all things gorgeous has been at it again. April Reed, the cake designer that has inspired SO many trends, SO many different cake styles, just sent me some pics of her newest work. And I have to say, she’s better than ever!

April’s silhouettes are so chic, so incredible modern and her attention to detail is, well…perfection. She approaches each design as if it were her one and only, infusing style and creativity that are beyond belief.
The fabulous Judy Tallant of the Tallant House in Seattle recently sent us a few pics of some pretty gorgeous cakes that are all about the bling. How can you NOT love a cake that is wearing accessories???
So stinkin’ cute, I just had to share! Thanks Tallant House…loooove!
We received today’s featured wedding from one of Abby’s favorite letterpress invitation designer’s in our Little Black Book, Bella Figura. Their work is unbelievably beautiful and they pride themselves on their environmentally friendly processes. Cynthia sent us images from Ashley and Christian’s November wedding last fall for which they designed the gorgeous letterpress invitations …
From Cynthia …
We just added a pretty great favors company to our Little Black Book that I have been so excited to introduce to you! Gourmet Gift Co. creates oh-so-yummy baking mixes that can be used to design favors, wedding cupcakes, shower treats, the works. With classic, home grown flavors like vanilla, chocolate and red velvet, the mixes are crafted to be just like mom use to make, made with the best of the best ingredients. LOVE THAT.
If you read Style Me Pretty, you know all about my obsession with silhouettes. Well, pair that with my love of K. Rose Cakes and you basically have complete and total perfection.
Swoon. Completely and madly in love with this cake. Here is a close-up shot so that you can really see the pure gorgeousness of the detailing…
La, la, LOVE! So much more to come throughout the day! In the meantime, check out K. Rose’s website for ridiculous amounts of eye candy and inspiration or click here to see some of her other designs that we’ve featured on SMP!
The cute girls at Papillon Cakes (Diana & Diana) recently sent me their latest wedding cake creations that they designed for a magazine shoot…and when I saw them, I swooned. The first was inspired by a Vera Wang gown, complete with perfect yellow and chocolate color palette, ruffles that will melt your heart and a sweet design that any bride would love.
I mean, come on! How gorgeous is that cake? The second is just as fabulous, inspired by Springtime in France, perfect for a small, quaint wedding or a fancy shmancy bridal shower…
Before we get to today’s absolutely lovely real wedding, I wanted to show off these new designs by Vanilla Bake Shop. They were debuted at the fabulous Soolip Wedding event last week in Los Angeles and when I saw them, my heart literally skipped a beat!
Ahhh, I haven’t seen navy and pink in a while and I certainly haven’t seen it done this well…and on a cake to boot! Now, take a peek at this sweet but modern, black and white floral design…
