New York City Spring Wedding From Turn Loose The Art

June 15th. 2009 by Eddye | 15 comments

Today’s featured Little Black Book photographers, Britney Gardner and Joe Rumore shoot weddings from coast to coast! This one ~ just happened to be in New York City on an unseasonably warm spring day. However, the bride, Melane, didn’t mind the heat one bit … she’s a Texas girl at heart!

She and Ryan asked 30 of their closest friends and family to fly to New York with them to celebrate their marriage in Central Park!

Real Wedding: Meredith + Scott, II

June 9th. 2009 by Abby Larson | 5 comments

There is a lot to love about today’s featured affair. It’s sweet simplicity. It’s utter charm. It’s approachable, effortless style. But most of all, I am totally smitten with the laid back elegance of the day. The umbrellas plopped inside a rain bucket, friends and family helping with the flowers, the picnic table and chair set up for guests. It’s all just so lovely!

Oh and I am completely and madly in love with the flowers…the perfect pink flowers tucked inside milk glass bowls, set against a simple burlap (or otherwise neutral) table runner. Total gorgeousness. Jessamyn Harris is the talent behind the photos that completely tell the story of the day. I love that.

Real Wedding: Meredith + Scott

June 9th. 2009 by Abby Larson | 9 comments

We have the sweetest wedding for you today. Sent to us by Jessamyn Harris, who seems to be forever blessed with the coolest friends and clients, this wedding is all about homegrown elegance. It’s further proof that weddings can be beautiful, without breaking the bank, effortlessly lovely without all the fuss.

From Jessamyn

Meredith and Scott are the sweetest, most creative people you could imagine, so it was no surprise that their wedding was gorgeous and filled with color, love, and friends.  I didn’t get the usual portraits, ceremony shots, group shots, etc., as I was a guest at the wedding instead of the official photographer (although, yes, I couldn’t resist shooting nearly 300 images of my friends and the beautiful garden).  The cute couple did almost everything themselves (along with family and friends).  The location was some friends’ garden in rural Sonoma County, filled with May blooms and some very cool rustic details.

Thank you so very much to Stephanie and Nathan for letting us share in the celebration. I kind of wish you guys were getting married many times over so that I could share your perfect style with our readers time and time again! And, to Jennifer at Alders Photography…loving you so SO much!

And for all of you…the fun is just beginning! That is a little cheesy, but it’s so true. We are doing our first Crate and Barrel Favorite Four Giveaway today…and it just might include a product that EVERY girl needs on her registry.

Real Wedding: Stephanie and Nathan, IV

We are featuring one of those weddings that just makes you happy. The clean, airy color palette, the sweet but sophisticated details, the effortless style…every little bit of it is what I envision SMP to be. So, when Jennifer at Alders Photography sent it to me, I just knew that I had to share it with you all!

Like Jennifer, the fabulous photographer, shared with us in the last feature…all of the chandeliers and decor details were found on ebay and by scouring flea markets. Hung from trees, they add that bit of sparkle that every outdoor affair needs. I am madly in love…if you can’t already tell!

Real Wedding: Stephanie and Nathan, III

I heart today’s real wedding. And in a big way. It’s casual, while still seemingly formal. It’s budget, while capturing a completely expensive style. It’s all about the romance, the beauty of the day and the absolutely fabulous couple.

If you are just now joining us, Jennifer over at Alders Photography sent us this affair, and I am in love! It took place this past May at Sailboat Cove in Paradise, Missouri…

Real Wedding: Stephanie and Nathan, II

When the fabulous Jennifer at Alders Photography sent me today’s featured wedding, I took one look at the bride’s necklace and literally squealed with delight. I have this thing for a bride that isn’t afraid to rock some seriously great necklaces with an otherwise sweet and traditional look. It adds that bit of chic that takes the style to an all new level.

And guess what ladies…the perfect bride, Stephanie, made the jewels herself!  The groom went with all-vested attire for his groom’s men.  The bride allowed all her bride’s maids to choose their own dresses in the beige/taupe color palette for the wedding.

Real Wedding: Stephanie and Nathan

I have a confession to make. The last couple of weeks I have been feeling a little, well…wedding exhausted. It’s just that I eat, sleep and breathe weddings with poufy white dresses and perfect chandeliers literally haunting my dreams. I know you guys can relate.

Well, lucky for me, this past weekend my husband and I attended one of those weddings that can make any girl fall in love all over again. And it MORE than excited my wedding nuttiness! So I owe a HUGE thank you to Jennie and Matt for letting us share in their big day and for single handedly making me jump out of bed to start writing today.

We have readers that work on every type of budget imaginable…from $2,000 to $200,00 and just about everything in between. So while we don’t always focus on one type of wedding over another, we hope that budgets large and small can find inspirations and ideas from those we do feature on SMP.

And Amy and Matt’s wedding, sent to us by lunaphoto is one that anyone would love, filled with a simply elegant style and sweet but utterly sophisticated details.

Real Wedding: Amy + Matt, II

The past two days have been all about weddings that fall in the $5,000-$10,000 range. But more importantly, they are weddings where the bride and groom allow those that are closest to them to really help define the day. Those where their unique personalities are infused into the wedding style. Those where details really shine. And, regardless of their budget, I love that Amy + Matt did just that.

Ahh…I can just breathe a sigh of pure happiness when I look at these photographs. They were shot by Luna Photography and do an absolutely brilliant job at conveying the soft, pretty elegance of the day. Here are a few more details from Amy…
