It’s time to announce the winners for our recent Color Palette Contest! And, I say winners (plural) because I have decided to feature two first place winners…one vote driven and one editor’s choice! After I reviewed all of the entries that were featured, I have chosen this board as a my pick…
Although there were so many boards that I loved, I chose this one because I felt like the designer really took the challenge to a new level. She found an image that completely inspired her and she ran with it. I love the vibrancy of the color palette, the beautifully cultural approach and the infusion of different textures and patterns. Great job!
The reader voted winner is the oh-so-blue inspired palette that you can see right here!
Congratulations to everyone that entered! I am saving those that didn’t make it up this round for our next color palette contest.
After five full days of gorgeous color palettes, it’s time to start voting for our favorites. I know, this is going to be so hard as there were so many that jumped off the page, but…I know that we can do it! You will be voting on the following criteria:
1. How well does the board reflect the actual image that inspired it?
2. How cohesive is the palette in terms of color and style?
3. Are you instantly drawn to it?
Please only vote ONCE (it’s so much easier for me to track if you only vote once), by simply writing the word “VOTE” in the comments section under the board that you like the best. All of the boards can be seen in the Contests section of our website. The winner will receive a $250 gift certificate to the online store of their choice!
Voting will end at midnight on Thursday, July 10th. I will announce the winner at the end of the day on Friday, the 11th. Good luck to everyone whose entries were featured!
PS - For those of you that sent me boards, I am going to hold on to them for our next contest! They were all great, really great and I can’t wait to show them off!
Color Palette Contest, Day 5 - Part 5
Our next entry is so fun and happy, inspired by the cute girls in yellow dresses…
Remember you can see all of the entries on our Color Palette section or our Contest section!
Color Palette Contest, Day 5 - Part 3
Our next entry was inspired by the gorgeous green silk dress by Aria…
This reader was an English major in college so along with the beautiful green dress, she was also inspired by this line of poetry…
“No white or red was ever seen, so amorous as this lovely green”
by Andrew Marvell (in The Garden).
Color Palette Contest, Day 5 - Part 1
I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend! We spent the last few days working on our new site design, which we are really hoping to reveal next week…so exciting!
Since we didn’t get to post the remaining entries in our Color Palette Contest on Friday, we are going to finish up today then start the voting tomorrow. Let’s get right to it!
This next entry is all about white, inspired by the amazing tile ceiling on the right from Maribeth of Red Ribbon Studio’s gorgeous office…
