Beautiful Outdoor Engagement Session

It’s not every day that you get to see an engagement session like this.  A super sweet + super talented photog (the amazing Elisabeth Cloutier Photographer) snapping up drop-dead gorgeous pictures of her little brother and her dear friend, who just so happen to be saying “I do” after she introduced them. Sigh… love makes me so happy.  See every beautiful, sun-filled moment in the full gallery.

From Elisabeth Cloutier Photographer… I’m a professional photographer. I usually take pictures for people I barely know; immortalizing something unforgettable for them. And I always feel grateful to share their special moments with them. This time, it was more than just that. My little brother is getting married. On October 4th, 2014 he’s marrying one of my friends.  Yes, the future bride is also a friend of mine; I studied photography with her. I presented them to each other three years ago at my own wedding… she was my photographer.  They fell in love and now it’s their turn to say yes! Taking pictures of my brother was easy for me. I knew how he would act in front of the camera… Just the same as in real life. But the stress was with my friend; it’s never easy to take pictures of a photographer. I had to convince her that for this afternoon, she was the lover, the future bride, the engaged… NOT THE PHOTOGRAPHER! She had to trust me like I trusted her three years ago.  And she finally did. She trusted me to surprise them! At first, they wanted to do the session in a orchard. To cliché, I told them. I wanted something more special for them.  The same morning, I was driving to my parents’ new house in Shefford, QC, Canada and took the little road that my father told me to take. The scenery was supposed to be beautiful. I felt in love. Everything was there. An old chapel, a long dirt road, a mountain… And the light that day was magical!!! We even got the chance to see a deer on our path!  Just as if God wanted them to have a perfect photo shoot.  Even Gloria, their Boston Terrier, got few shots. Jean-Rémy and Andreanne, I was more than just happy to do your engagement session. I am profoundly honoured.

Log Cabin Wedding in Vintage Flair

Summer brings on a different kind of cabin fever. And this darling Quebec wedding made the most of it’s rustic surroundings by cracking out the heirloom record player, lawn games, and some great food from Black Strap BBQ (and they don’t skimp of the poutine for all you Québécois folks out there). Lachance Photo captured some lovely pictures of the day. For more of the festivities, check out the full gallery here.

From Lachance Photo… Tom & Elizabeth, this amazing and sweet couple had a vintage vision of their wedding day, and it all fell greatly into place on that beautiful sunny day.

The ceremony set up was perfectly laid out in the spacious backyard of a log cabin, with a view of the lake. A welcoming smell was in the air, lavender flowers were present on a small table, and small arrangement of flowers in small jars posted along the isle path. A good friend of the bride and groom was the officiant.

The vintage details were present during the entire day, ranging from the old record player that had a family sentimental value, wooden frames with quirky words, rustic place mats with the menus, and golden frame for table arrangements to hanging flags (just married).

Guests had plenty to entertain themselves, ranging from classic outdoor games such as giant Jenga, which was built by the bride and her father to the traditional croquet. The sun was right on cue, and the rays would fill the colorful room that was garnished with paper balloons, and showcasing the table arrangements with flowers in bright blue old fashioned jars. Some of the vintage decor were the bride’s and groom’s personal collection, as well as one of the bridesmaid’s.

The diner started with a music performance from the newly weds and their bridal party! For guests feast, whether you had a sweet tooth, or just wanted something to munch on, a variety of candies were at their disposal, including a popcorn machine! The bride’s mother even made the caramel apples. The guests enjoyed some beef brisket, smoked chicken, Southern Greens, Memphis BBQ sauce, coleslaw, bacon beans and the traditional Quebec’s poutine.

What a gorgeous wedding with amazing people!

Rustic Chic Wedding on Navark Island

When stylish folks like DJ Abeille and her handsome hubby (who happens to be the brains behind many fabulous things, including le Mechant Mangeur) tie the knot, you know it’s not only going to be a gorgeous party, but a fun one too. So it shouldn’t be a big surprise that the wedding sitting pretty below is one for the books. Captured beautifully by Emilie Iggiotti, this is one gallery you simply cannot miss.

From Emilie IggiottiAbeille is a DJ, TV host and TV personality in Montreal and Na’eem is a foodista, food blogger and social media specialist. They got engaged in India, at the Taj Mahal. How romantic is this? Their wedding was a perfect mix of traditions: Abeille is from a French quebecois family and Na’eem is Indian. They had a mehndi party a few days before the big wedding. The style of their wedding was really rustic and chic. The colors were a mix of peach, pink and blue and it was lovely. The flowers made by Atelier Carmel were just perfect. Their wedding took place on a private island in Montreal, called Navark. The light on this island at sunset is simply amazing.

Their wedding was full of surprises, from musicians playing sitara during cocktail, to Bollywood dancers launching the dance party with the bride and groom, to the bride’s friend playing the guitar and singing a song for the newlyweds during dinner, to the groom’s best man (who is a painter) painting a piece of art (the Taj Mahal) for them during the reception as a gift, to the surprise birthday cake for Abeille’s sister… the wedding was just a day full of life and love and celebration and happiness. Not to mention the constant smile on the bride’s face and the happiness of the groom. This wedding was all about love, dance and bliss.
