Montreal Engagement Session at Macdougall Manor

We adore engagement sessions around these parts. And when they are as adorable as this one from Junophoto, well then we flat out love them. From the fun prop styling to the cute-as-can be couple themselves, this gallery is simply as sweet as they come, and you can soak it all up right here.

From The Bride…Andy and I met a few years back when we were both starting our first student summer job. At the beginning, there were shared glances and shy smiles. But then, Andy managed to steal my phone number and that is how it all started. After a few dates, ice creams, the fifth Harry Potter, the first movie Transformers and Andy handing me a rose from a bended knee, I became his girlfriend.

That summer turned out to be the most magical and carefree summer of our lives.

For our engagement photo session, I wanted to recreate this whimsical and youthful atmosphere of when we first met. Camille, our photographer, has made this possible by creating pictures that are simple, yet incredibly joyful, luminous and romantic.

Outdoor Engagement Session at Atwater Market

Say the words “summer engagement session” and it’s like an amazing portal into the land of sunshine, waterside picnics and ice cream cones with your honey.  Basically everything this sweet e-sesh captured by Julia C. Vona of Junophoto happens to be.  It’s an adorable duo celebrating 10 years of happiness… and the anticipation of one seriously awesome wedding.  See it all in the full gallery.

From The Bride… We met through our student job in a restaurant back in 2003, became friends and started dating the following year. We’ve been together ever since, surviving the challenges inherent of long-distance dating (which we did for three years), and of juggling master’s and doctoral studies while working. Fred popped the big question in 2012 while hiking on a picturesque path. We asked Junophoto’s team to immortalize our engagement along the Lachine canal in Montreal, close to where we first moved in together. It was really meaningful to go back to a site full of memories of long walks, runs and time spent wining down on the grass, but this time with photographers who knew how to make us feel at ease! We also loved capturing on picture our stop at the Atwater market, where we treated ourselves with a delicious ice cream cone… always my favorite in the hot Montréal summer.

To represent our love of the outdoors, family traditions of DIY of all kinds, but also the chic and glam that comes with our Montreal life, a “rustic chic” wedding was the way to go for us. Planned in 2014 to mark our ten years together, we chose a venue in Quebec city to celebrate this very special moment in the region where we are both from. With the help of family members and friends, this day promises to be filled with joy and personal touches. In short, a wedding full of Mason jars, hand-made embroideries, burlap, wood slices, a S’mores bar to close the event, but, most importantly, a wedding full of love!

Beautiful Outdoor Engagement Session

It’s not every day that you get to see an engagement session like this.  A super sweet + super talented photog (the amazing Elisabeth Cloutier Photographer) snapping up drop-dead gorgeous pictures of her little brother and her dear friend, who just so happen to be saying “I do” after she introduced them. Sigh… love makes me so happy.  See every beautiful, sun-filled moment in the full gallery.

From Elisabeth Cloutier Photographer… I’m a professional photographer. I usually take pictures for people I barely know; immortalizing something unforgettable for them. And I always feel grateful to share their special moments with them. This time, it was more than just that. My little brother is getting married. On October 4th, 2014 he’s marrying one of my friends.  Yes, the future bride is also a friend of mine; I studied photography with her. I presented them to each other three years ago at my own wedding… she was my photographer.  They fell in love and now it’s their turn to say yes! Taking pictures of my brother was easy for me. I knew how he would act in front of the camera… Just the same as in real life. But the stress was with my friend; it’s never easy to take pictures of a photographer. I had to convince her that for this afternoon, she was the lover, the future bride, the engaged… NOT THE PHOTOGRAPHER! She had to trust me like I trusted her three years ago.  And she finally did. She trusted me to surprise them! At first, they wanted to do the session in a orchard. To cliché, I told them. I wanted something more special for them.  The same morning, I was driving to my parents’ new house in Shefford, QC, Canada and took the little road that my father told me to take. The scenery was supposed to be beautiful. I felt in love. Everything was there. An old chapel, a long dirt road, a mountain… And the light that day was magical!!! We even got the chance to see a deer on our path!  Just as if God wanted them to have a perfect photo shoot.  Even Gloria, their Boston Terrier, got few shots. Jean-Rémy and Andreanne, I was more than just happy to do your engagement session. I am profoundly honoured.
