I’m a big believer in throwing aside those pesky “wedding rules” and doing exactly what you want, just the way you want it on your Big Day.  From the moment you say “let’s do it!” to the time you say “I do!” it should be all about you.  So when I read that this darling duo happened to do just that, crafting a day that was chock-full or personality, I got a little giddy.  Because there’s nothing better than a day shining bright with special touches and homegrown pretty.  Nothing.  See it all captured by Taylor Roades in the full gallery.

From the Bride… This was our perfect wedding on a budget. Being young and just starting out on our own, we knew we needed to be as frugal as possible when piecing together our dream wedding. With the help of family and friends we were able to do almost everything ourselves in just a mere three months from the day we got engaged. The rustic charm of the venue we chose, for both our ceremony and reception, was the perfect backdrop for our “country” theme. We paid special attention to little details like our wine labels, seating lollipops, wedding program booklets and homemade jam favours. All of our decor was handmade and our meal was home cooked goodness!

Taylor from Taylor Roades Photography was able to perfectly capture the little moments throughout our big day and love really exploded through each picture. At the end of the day we wanted our wedding to be about our 250+ guests and for them to really enjoy their time celebrating with us. Our candy bar and late night pizza delivery were just two of the many ways we tried to make that happen. My absolute favourite moment of the day was when my new husband of a few hours surprised me by serenading me with a special song. The whole day was fun for everyone and the relaxing atmosphere was exactly what we had hoped to create. We can’t help but smile each time we look at the photos of our special day.
