Toronto Wedding from A Brit & A Blonde

First I fell in love with this Bride’s perfectly red lip, then the Groom’s yellow socks and their pup’s matching bow tie. Then I just realized I love the whole darn thing. Every single snapped up by A Brit & A Blonde made me just want more. So I wound up spending quite a bit of time with this hip city fête in the full gallery, and let me tell you, it was time well spent. See every moment of this fabulous day here.

From A Brit & A BlondeThis wedding is the definition of city cool.  We are talking bespoke tuxedo, ah-maze Caroline Herrera wedding dress, pops of yellow and an adorbs pup with a bow tie. I heart this wedding a lot. Jason & Yaryna are a super fun couple and have an impeccable design aesthetic. The groom is a graphic designer and well he looks pretty darn awesome in his bespoke tuxedo. Yaryna looked beyond amazing in a drop dead gorgeously perfect dress from Caroline Herrera. Her oh-so-bang on hair and that perfect red pout were the perfect accessories. Thanks to uber rad hair/makeup genius Lucky Bromhead (who also does makeup for MTV Canada). She even parked her sweet baby blue Vespa outside where we could not resist taking some snaps with the bride. The couple adore their big city of Toronto – so dressed to the nines, they opted to wait for the streetcar and take public transit to their wedding. We kinda dig them for that. The pops of yellow with the balloons, the bridesmaids shoes, the fun “yeah” sticks, the groom’s socks and even their beloved dog’s bowtie added that sense of “je ne sais quoi”. The Burroughes Building was where they held their ceremony and reception for about 90 guests. The exposed brick wall and industrial feel was the perfect choice for this city loving couple. Right in the heart of their city.

From GreenAutumn PhotographyMike and Chantelle’s vision coming to life was truly a labour of love. Everything was either found, borrowed, recycled or refurbished, with a few purchases from Etsy, and handmade throughout several wedding party DIY projects! And my favourite part of it all? That two visions were combined to create one beautiful outcome – a rustic vintage handmade wedding. Jimmy and I have come to know Mike and Chantelle as friends over the months leading up to their wedding, and we both recognized and appreciated how mindful both Mike and Chantelle were when it came to ensuring each detail of their wedding was in line with their own personal values and ethics to the best of their ability; reducing the ecological footprint of their wedding celebrations. They certainly pulled it off without sacrificing style, which essentially is their rad style. So many significant and thoughtful details.

Ontario Wedding at Hacienda Sarria from Bloom Photography

Lesson of the day: if you happen to own an adorable dog named “Newton” and you also happen to know how to throw a crazy gorgeous wedding, I will desperately want to be your best friend.  And I mean desperately.  Because when I laid my eyes on these amazing images by Bloom Photography and read the bride’s beautiful description, I instantly began dreaming of shopping trips and happy hours with my new besties.  Bride and groom crush?  Quite possibly.  Join the fan club in the full gallery.  They (and their wedding) are awesome.

From the Bride… Chad and I met over six years ago when we were both in school and working part time at a local fitness club. Throughout our six plus years together we have traveled to 10 different countries, moved three times and fallen in love with a little Yorkshire Terrier named Newton. Chad proposed at his parents’ home in Vancouver, British Columbia – he popped the question by engraving ‘will you marry me’ on a heart-shaped dog-tag, attached to a bow-tie around Newton’s neck. I immediately said ‘Yes!’ and we began to plan our big day!

Chad was a groom who wanted to be thoroughly involved in the process. Due to his hectic work schedule, I would narrow our options to my top two or three choices, and then together we would arrive at the best selection. We wanted a wedding which was quintessentially ‘us’… modern and sophisticated, yet simple and relaxed.

We wanted to highlight our love for travel, our adoration for ‘Newton,’ provide a fabulous meal for our guests and throw a great party to celebrate our love for each other and rejoice with our family and friends.

The Hacienda provided the perfect Mediterranean-inspired backdrop and we brought in personalized elements – our 3D heart shaped guestbook to resemble the dog tag Chad used to propose, Chad’s love for golf was highlighted with his ‘mini-putt kissing game,’ our love for dogs in the OSPCA donation thank-you cards, our signature drink ‘The Newton,’ my love for anything and everything sparkly shone with the black sequin bridesmaid dresses, our simple- contemporary monogramed invitations – we had the ‘e&c’ engraved in our wedding bands.
