A little bit of rock, a little bit of romance, this black and gold decked Vancouver fete is edgy-chic to boot and I’m loving every badass inch. It’s just the dose of enchanting romance that All Hallows’ Eve deserves. Briar Johnston of Epic Events left her gorgeous touch on this day, while All Dolled Up Studio glammed up the striking Bride, who by the way rocked a skull garter, hand-dipped black veil and black lace Louboutins. Love, love, love this entire gallery from Whitney Lane.
From Briar Johnston at Epic Events…Jenn and Mike celebrated their love in true romantic, rock-and-roll style. As they spoke their vows under a willow tree their love, friendship and support for each other was extremely apparent and proven by a kiss of epic proportions.
The day began by the girls getting pampered by the talented team at All Dolled Up Studio, also close friends of the brides and guests at the wedding. Jenn took some time to snuggle her pup and sip champagne to take in the excitement that was this beautiful day! Jenn wore an incredible blush toned Reem Acra gown with a custom hand-dipped black and ivory silk veil. It was like nothing I had ever seen and looked absolutely stunning on her.
Guests arrived for a ceremony lakeside under a weeping willow tree at the Van Dusen Botanical Gardens. The bridesmaid all wore their own black cocktail dresses and added a touch of elegance to the natural backdrop. There was silence as they spoke their heartfelt vows to each other. When a musician writes his own vows – there are no words!
The bridal party left for a ocean cruise aboard a private charter and sipped champagne and celebrated!
After the ceremony, the guests strolled through the garden and made their way to the Vancouver dockside restaurant Bridges for cocktail hour. They were treated to a patio Caesar Bar and Oyster Bar.
They included many special touches into their reception including a spin off the traditional “glass clink for a kiss” and asked their guest to instead make donation to the S.P.C.A in honour of their pup Joey.
Dinner and dancing were held in oceanside room at Bridges Restaurant. The food was carefully selected and executed perfectly! Guests were seated at long tables dawned with black and gold details. There was a *hint* of a pirate theme throughout the day and it fit very well with the bride and grooms quirky style. All of the stationery was custom created by their family friend Heather Cranston of Harry Canary Co. and perfectly reflected the off-beat theme.
With dinner finished, guests, many of them musicians, danced the night away! It was a fantastic day full of passionate love and I was so honoured to be a part of it!
