I must admit, I have a bit of a crush on this beautiful bride and her retro 60′s wedding! It’s always refreshing to see when a couple can artfully incorporate their love for vintage yet manage to keep the event feeling classic. Tied Photo & Film did an amazing job capturing this couple’s groovy vibe and luckily for you, lovelies, there is plenty more eye-candy right here!

From Tied Photo & Film A simple, romantic, vintage-inspired wedding. When we met Julia and Paul they told us that they had a huge fondness for all things vintage and that they are huge fans of ’60s dance music. This love of classically-retro style was very apparent as soon as we showed up to photograph the wedding day. The vintage details included the elegant downtown hotel that Julia got ready in, her dress, hair and makeup, the Heritage Building with the antique elevator that hosted their ceremony and reception and the antique typewriter used for the guest book. We love to shoot in downtown Toronto and just walking around the streets with these two best friends was a lot of fun and gave the shoot a very relaxed feel.

From the Bride… One of our favourite things to do on a Saturday night is make a huge, homemade dinner, and enjoy a bottle of wine (or two) together. One Saturday in December, Paul spent hours in the kitchen recreating the first dinner he ever made for me: wild mushroom risotto. I noticed when we sat down to eat he was nervously picking at his food, then he suddenly put his fork down, got up from the table and moved to stand beside me at my seat. That’s when he got down on his knee! I don’t think we ever did finish our meal!

Our favorite wedding moment was at the end of the evening when all of our family and close friends made a giant circle around us as we all danced and sang along to “Don’t Stop Believin.”
