For Chris and Chris (this handsome duo), the top priority for their wedding was to find “the perfect place to unite our transatlantic backgrounds, whist doing justice to our love of all things glamorous and fabulous.” The London West Hollywood was the perfect fit — not only are the Grooms currently based in London, but it blended the British class with all the glitz and glamour of LA. See how it all came together, thanks to gorgeous photos from Birds Of A Feather in The Vault!
From The Groom…After dating for eight years, Chris and I decided to tie the knot. We’re an international couple, with one Chris being American and the other Chris British, so we needed the perfect place to unite our transatlantic backgrounds, whist doing justice to our love of all things glamorous and fabulous. Based upon our love of the city and the weather, we knew Los Angeles would be our destination, and, once we walked into The London West Hollywood, we immediately realized that we had found our venue. It was such a perfect fit: not only are we currently based in London, UK – so it allowed us to tie “London” into our destination wedding – the venue blends the best of British class with all the glitz, glamour, and fabulousness that America can offer. We utilized the open rooftop spaces of the hotel, and had the area complemented with white flowers and lots of candles for a modern, clean and masculine look. The cake was a deconstructed three-tier creation, decorated with white orchids and roses, which tied into our masculine and modern theme. The wedding guest list comprised of forty of our closest friends and family, all of who travelled from across the UK and USA to West Hollywood to join us for our special day. During the cocktail and canapé hour, the scenery of the LA skyline at dusk was accompanied by a string quartet playing famous film anthems, and during dinner the DJ began to play, continuing well into the night.
The event was black-tie, intimate, and glamorous. There was such electricity in the air that night, a feeling we will never forget. Being a destination wedding, everyone had travelled so far to celebrate with us – and, as the night went on, the backdrop of the sun setting over Los Angeles made for a truly breathtaking experience. Everyone in attendance knew us very well as a couple and, with the recent passing of marriage equality laws both in the USA and the UK, there was an overwhelming amount of emotion being poured towards us, as we finally had the opportunity to legally declare our love for each other. Having already spent over one-quarter of our lives together, now being able to be legally married means the world to us.
Under the sunny skies of California, we officially became Chris-squared – and against the panoramic views of Los Angeles after sunset, we danced the night away!
