I’m a lover of rainy days, so when I meet a duo that isn’t afraid to throw on their rain boots and frolic around in the drizzly weather, I’m a big fan. Such is the case with this adorable twosome, a couple of soon-to-be married sweeties that embraced the downpour with smiles on their faces… and have some drop-dead gorgeous moments captured by Jasmine Lee Photography to prove it. See them here.

From The Groom…Vicki and I are getting married at Devine Ranch, a beautiful 80 acre horse ranch, nestled off the coast of Monterey Bay. Sticking to the rustic theme, we chose Sunol Regional Park for our engagement shoot as it offered open fields sprawling over hillsides, large oak trees, and fun natural features, but as the day approached, a large storm coming from Hawaii, with heavy rain, was being reported in the forecast. This obviously put a kink in our plans, but after contemplating rescheduling and alternative options, we decided to move forward with the engagement shoot anyways, and in doing so, we were thrilled with the results!
It wasn’t Sunol Regional Park, but the Ice Cream Bar located in the heart of San Francisco’s Cole Valley district offered some comfort from the rain to start. The 1950′s decor was a fun touch as Vicki and I shared a banana split on the old bar stools and took in the details of this neighborhood staple. The retro decor added flair to our photos and it allowed Vicki’s hair and make up to stay in place prior to letting loose and running around in the rain!
Following the Ice Cream Bar, we set off for Golden Gate Park and boy was it raining! But who doesn’t dream of falling in love and kissing in the rain?! Once in Golden Gate Park, Jasmine knew of a great spot offering open space, our desired oak trees, and puddles for us to splash in – rain boots were a must, for her at least! The best memory was picking up Vicki and twirling her around in the rain, it felt like we were invincible. The lighting was perfect as rainy days let you to shoot from any angle, allowing us to be more loose and free flowing.
Even though it poured on the day of our engagement shoot, Vicki and I embraced it and had a blast with it. Some things to note about doing your engagement photos in the rain – colorful rain boots are fun, Vicki would recommend a clear umbrella (helps with lighting), a brush and paper towels depending on how hard it’s raining (Vicki used them to blot every now and then), but most importantly, let loose and have fun! Vicki and I dove in head first and had a blast being playful and creating a memory that will last a lifetime!
