From Per Pixel Photo...Hello hello! I hope you’re having a great day and can’t wait to share this beautiful wedding with you! Tina and Levi tied the knot at the historic Casino Estate located in San Clemente, CA. SO many beautiful details sprinkled all throughout the venue and they totally transformed the reception room into a lovely, candle-lit, romantic ball room.

So many great moments but the coolest moment was when the couple decided to honor Levi’s grandparents. The grandparents did not have a “first dance” at their wedding so they opened the dance floor for them to enjoy a dance while everyone was cheering them on.

Organic + Elegant Orange County Estate Wedding

Now this is my kinda wedding. The kind where the couple puts an emphasis on the personal, like a backyard taco filled reception complete with homemade cookies by the Groom’s mother. It’s sweet details like that that lend to the loveliness of the Bride’s BHLDN gown and captures from Danielle Poff Photography that simply melt our heart. More here!

From the beautiful Bride… Jake and I had the immense pleasure of getting married at our friend’s Spanish-style private estate in San Clemente, California, just blocks from the water. Prior to getting this opportunity, we struggled with finding a venue that felt like “us”: laid back, private, and intimate. We feel blessed to have married there!

I knew I wanted a relaxed and comfortable, yet romantic vibe infused in every detail of our day, while not competing with the natural Spanish-style of the home. I’ve seen quite a few stressed-out brides on their wedding day and knew we needed a relaxing atmosphere for our day. One of the easiest ways to create that relaxed vibe was through our food/drinks: tacos, margaritas, and local beer from Pizza Port (a Southern California classic)!

For my dress, I knew immediately that I wanted to wear a gown from BHLDN. Nothing says “romance” like their stunning collection of gowns. My sisters and I celebrated my bachelorette trip in NYC and simultaneously went wedding dress shopping in their Upper East Side store. It was pretty dreamy to find my gown in Manhattan! My shoes were also from BHLDN. Prior to getting engaged, I underestimated the power of a wedding veil. But when dress shopping, it wasn’t until they put a veil on me that it all felt real. I love the beauty and symbolism that a traditional veil represents so I found some vintage scalloped-lace on Etsy and had one of my own bride’s mother custom make it for me. It was so special to have!

One of my favorite parts of the planning process was choosing the decor! The thought of spending money on decor that we would use only once pained me. And it didn’t feel true to our taste. So instead of buying “wedding decor”, I bought items that Jake and I could incorporate into our future home, such as the Anthropologie vase that my bouquet sat in on our sweetheart table, or the succulents that displayed our seating arrangement. I also made the table numbers (and all the other signage) in Photoshop and displayed them in frames I found at a discounted home decor store. My only decor splurge so-to-speak was my florals. They were so important to me! Cherry Blossom Floral Designs made the most incredible eucalyptus garlands which was an easy way to fill the tables (since I didn’t want to buy a bunch of décor pieces). It also made for a perfect altar!

We skipped the traditional wedding cake and went for a small naked cake for us to keep the tradition of cake-cutting, and then opted for 1/2 of the cookies to be made from Kuba Kreations and 1/2 of them made by my mother-in-law. It was so special to have her contribute to our day like that! And every guest loves cookies.

Being a wedding photographer myself, choosing the right photographer for our wedding was the most important planning decision to me. I knew Danielle was the perfect gal for us, even despite our 500 mile distance! She and her second shooter, Sidney Morgan, captured every detail so beautifully and had a relaxed, yet professional attitude that I loved. My coordinator Kelsey, of Kelsey Rae Designs, made our day go so smoothly. I couldn’t have chosen a better coordinator to work with! She took care of absolutely everything and I knew I could trust her to make our day incredible.

Our backyard wedding felt so true to us, which was so important to Jake and I. It couldn’t have been sweeter!

From the Bride… When Andrew and I began planning our wedding we knew we both wanted one thing: an awesome party! And it was with that mindset that we began to plan our big day. As two attorneys we also knew we would need some help to pull off an awesome party and that maybe we were lacking in the creativity department. Early on we employed the assistance of our wedding planner, Andrea Guzman of LVL Weddings & Events, to help us with both of these things. It was during my first conversation with Andrea that I explained that I didn’t want our wedding to look like two attorneys had designed it. She quickly assured me that she could help us avoid such fate and we knew she would be the perfect fit for planning our wedding!

Andrea was fantastic in bringing together our vision of a nautical inspired wedding with a host of amazing vendors. She understood that we wanted a nautical theme, but we didn’t want the wedding to be covered with anchors, crabs, and seashells. (Disclaimer: I love all things nautical, but couldn’t imagine big red crabs on my wedding day!) And so we created a day full of nautical navy blue stripes and golden lanterns, to create a classic wedding vibe.

We tried to strike a balance between doing things ourselves and leaving other items to the professionals… Andrew and I ordered our Save the Dates and invites on Minted.  We hand-cut all of the menus, tied ribbons to our drink stirrers, and painstakingly assembled each guest’s escort card (complete with hand tied ribbon). We left the remainder to the professionals. The Casino San Clemente (and Pacific Ocean) served as an amazing backdrop for our cocktail hour and reception. Jay’s catering served amazing food and kept the cocktails flowing all night! Signature Party rentals did the heavy lifting for our furniture rentals. Troy and Aimee Grover were phenomenal and captured every moment our big day. Alise of Sweet Marie Designs provided the perfect floral arrangements and was so accommodating of my wish for a tulip-filled wedding. And last but not least, the band!! Project M of Elan Artists was the hit of the wedding! They got everyone on the dance floor, from our young cousins to my grandmother. They truly made the night unforgettable. We are so thankful to have worked with such an amazing team to make our awesome party a reality!

Romantic Summer San Clemente Wedding

Beautiful blooms in shades of pinks and cream, and containers of candy at every seat; I’m officially jealous I wasn’t a guest at this wedding. Not only was it super sweet, but after going through Josh Elliot’s photos, I can say that it was absolutely gorgeous as well. A Good Affair Wedding & Event Production planned and executed it all and their florals are breathtaking. See every pretty pic right here!

From A Good Affair Wedding & Event Production… Jessica and Travis chose Casa Romantica in San Clemente, CA as the backdrop for their romantic wedding. I knew Jessica from planning her sister’s wedding a couple years earlier, so was thrilled to be able to create their dream wedding. We used a beautiful palette of berry tones, creams and greens for a classic look and feel. Their oceanfront ceremony was highlighted with a beautiful arch made out of birch logs, layers of chiffon and luscious blooms of garden roses, hydrangea and privet berry and smylx garland. Along the aisle, green garlands and delicate blooms adorned the chairs. Dinner was set in the garden with enchanting bistro lights strung above, rose gold sequin runners and pretty pedestal arrangements. A nod to the couple’s love of candy, each place setting had a bottle of the couple’s favorite Jelly Belly’s.
