Glamourous Engagement Session from Allie Lindsey Photography

Spending the day in a room filled to brim with balloons whilst rockin’ your finest apparel kind of sounds like a dream come true.  So, this breathtaking e-session captured by Allie Lindsey Photography? Seriously amazing.  As are the stunning bride and groom who, with the help of the uber-talented team of Evelyn Francesca Events, Byuti Salon and Jeanie Tran, created a shoot that will go down in SMP history.  One that is as much of an ode to Old Hollywood glamour as it is to sweet l.o.v.e.  See it all in the full gallery.

From the Bride… There are very few moments in your life where you feel as if the world stops and time stands still. This is the feeling I had on the day of our engagement shoot. I shared a glimpse of an idea with our photographer, Allie and she completely brought it to life. Michael and I loved the idea of an Old Hollywood glam engagement shoot and we were so thrilled with the entire experience. We were going for a Grace Kelly/Clark Gable theme and believe that the balloon wonderland served as an amazing backdrop. It was an absolute dream come true, we felt like Hollywood royalty for the day.

Santa Barbara Wedding from Lavender & Twine

Santa Barbara. If there is a place that I could pin point as the land of the loveliest weddings, Santa Barbara would definitely be in the running. Ok, it would be the winner. Because never have I seen a place produce SO much pretty. Pretty like this gorgeous fête at the Santa Barbara Women’s Club designed by True Blue Events. It’s classic California from start to finish (meaning I’ve swooned over every sunlit image from Lavender & Twine), and it’s all sitting pretty right here.

From True Blue EventsUpon meeting the bride and groom and hearing their visions of fresh lavender, very natural elements, farm to table faire and extra twinkle lights, we knew this wedding was going to be amazing.  Add in a dream team including Jason Sulkin on guitar for the ceremony, beautiful florals and hand-picked succulents from Juniper Floral Design, delectable and beautifully presented food from Savoir Faire Catering and Lavender and Twine behind the lens and you have a recipe for a great event!

Rockwood Women’s Club is one one of our favorite venues to work with in Santa Barbara due to it’s beautiful landscaping, high ceilings with wrought iron chandeliers, and large oak tree seemingly perfectly placed for ceremonies (although it has been around since before the club even existed)!  The main challenge within the planning process was to add to this natural beauty without encroaching upon it…. hence touches of Farmer’s Market Lavender, hand-picked rosemary, terra-cotta potted lavender seating chart, and florals in neutral tones.  It was really fun to work with a couple so focused on sourcing locally, being green and recycling!

From the Bride… Our inspiration for the wedding was simple, classic Southern California, and the town of Santa Barbara couldn’t have been a more perfect location. We wanted to be married outdoors, underneath a tree, and after a few ups and downs we found exactly what we were looking for at the Rockwood Woman’s Club.

Looking back, it was just amazing to watch all the little details come together on the wedding day. My parents and I designed, printed and assembled the invitation ourselves. We collected family wedding photos from both sides and displayed them in the foyer on a ‘legacy of love’ table. I modified the escort card concept by stamping names on popsicle sticks and placing them in pots of lavender (thank you, Pinterest). Both of our mothers spent months collecting candles, string lights and baking batches of our favorite cookies to serve as dessert. I raided my backyard for herbs and succulents to scatter throughout the venue. Jaime and Lynn brought it all together so that we could relax on the day-of.

Juniper Presence did an absolutely stunning job on all the florals, enhancing our color palette with dahlias, orchids and manzanita branches. Savoir Faire provided the most delicious farm-to-table summer meal, paired beautifully with local Santa Ynez wines. Daniele from Lavender and Twine Photography documented our day so perfectly that you can feel the love through the pictures.

Rustic Farm to Table Southern California Wedding from Lovely Leaf Studio

DIY weddings hold a very, very special place in my heart.  Maybe it’s because I am decidedly non-crafty and I find myself in a constant state of awe at what all of you DIYers can accomplish… or maybe it’s that each and every detail created is done so with sooo much love and attention.  My guess?  It’s a sweet combination of both that has me so obsessed.  And when it comes to this darling Fallbrook affair, it’s all of the above, plus a stunning location and an entire gallery of pretty captured by Lovely Leaf Studio that tickles my fancy.  See it all right here.

From Lovely Leaf StudioLorraine and Peter wanted to create a fabulous celebration for their friends and family at their family’s Boutique Vineyard in Fallbrook California.  They wanted their special day to feel warm and full of love so the theme of their big day was shabby chic with rustic touches. Every element of the wedding was created by the family. Lorraine’s mom provided all the decor for the big day which included custom table decor, ceremony arch, and every floral element. The theme to the reception was farm to table, seasonal fresh food prepared on site by chefs. With vintage rentals and twinkly lights, the look Lorraine and Peter wanted was complete.
