Have I ever told you I am a complete sucker for a love story? You probably figured that out already, but I love hearing how out of all the people in the world, two people just happened to find each other – and when it ends in a wedding as pretty as this one, I turn into mush. Captured by Heather Pepin Photography this love story has one very happy ending. See even more here.
From Heather Pepin Photography…“Four years ago I never would’ve believed I’d be standing here with a girl who walked in to a coffee shop wearing a Dodgers hat, of all things. We waited nearly two months before we met each other. After all the texts, emails, and phone calls we held our breath and took a jump, and we learned in life, that all you need is twenty seconds of insane courage to make something great happen.”
Those words were just a portion of Sam’s sweet vows to Lindsey but they give a good peek in to the beautiful hearts and inspiring love that Sam and Lindsey share. They are both such kind and genuine people and their lives and love reflect that in every way. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve known them, Sam and Lindsey are the kind of people that welcome you with a warm hug and leave you full of joy. They invite you in to their world and make you feel like you’ve been friends for years. It’s this love that they have for each other and for the people around them that made their wedding day so incredible. On a beautiful California day, at the Estancia Resort in La Jolla, friends and family gathered to support and love this couple that had touched each of their lives. It was a day filled with joyful tears, romance, love, and beauty, and Sam and Lindsey deserved every single moment of it.
From Bride…How we met: Our moms work together at a school in the Bay Area. Once his mom learned that I was living in San Diego, she thought it would be a good idea for me to show her son around as he was just hired there. Her and I had traveled to Paris about seven years ago with my mom and another teacher. I remember her telling me then that I needed to meet her son but we were both dating other people at the time. I was hesitant to meet him until I did a little Facebook stalking, I mean, research. I was smitten at first click. The first friend request was sent and many, many, (MANY) messages and late nights later, messages turned to texts, and texts turned to phone calls. This lasted for quite sometime as feelings had formed fast and we were nervous and anxious to meet each other. Finally a meeting was set at Coffee Bean in Carlsbad. We were there for four hours and almost shut the place down. The next day, a “first date” was set and the rest is history!
Our wedding took place in La Jolla, California at the Estancia Hotel. We chose this location for it’s relaxed elegance, breathtaking grounds, and it’s close proximity to where we live. Because we met and live here in San Diego and wanted to celebrate our love here. Most of our wedding guests were from out of town, we wanted the atmosphere to be warm, welcoming, and a time everyone would cherish.
The colors were black, white, and green and the theme was classic, easy elegance. We wanted the venue to speak for itself so I didn’t want overly done florals, but simply stated ferns and white blooms. Isari Floral Studio did an amazing job capturing our vision.
We wanted the wedding to have subtle touches of us all throughout. We parked our hot rod (1932 Ford Roadster) in the entry way of the hotel. My dad had a gorgeous “Just Married” sign pinstriped for us so we could have a get away in style! Our dog (read: our son) could not be on the property unfortunately, so we had a framed picture of him made with a sign around his neck that read, “Glad you’re here to celebrate with my parents. Please enjoy the doggie bags from me. Woof, Lux”. On that table, we had bags of monogramed cookies from Michele Coulon Dessertier. For our guest book, we worked with a graphic designer to do a one of a kind poster of our venue. We now have this great work of art, along with everyone’s kind words hanging up in our home. On the walls of the Grande Room, I had our invitation blown up and scattered on the walls in their frames. All these touches really made the day so memorable.
Our amazing team of vendors and our family and friends are what truly made this day the most special day of our lives thus far. We are so blessed to have had such a beautiful wedding. I am excited to be married to Sam for the rest of our lives!
