You know what makes me happy?  A bride who says that her wedding day is the “happiest day of my life.” That is a statement that fills me with pure, unadulterated joy, especially when that bride is the kind bride who, along with her dapper groom, amazing vendors and awesome friends and family, crafted a day that is chock-full of amazing.  I’m talking a pink-hued masterpiece, lovelies.  See every last beautiful moment captured by Oz Visuals right here in the full gallery.

From the Bride… Our wedding was, as cliche as it may sound, the best day of my life.  I got to declare my love for my best friend in front of our closet family and friends and then celebrate with all of them.  Joe and I had been dating for over four years when he proposed at Christmas time looking at lights.  Although I had been dreaming of my wedding since I was little, I didn’t jump right into planning, we really wanted to enjoy being engaged.  A few months later when I did began planning there was no turning back, I loved it!  I always knew that I wanted a very classic wedding, I wanted to look back on the day 20 years from now and still love every detail we created.

The planning process was a labor of love, my Dad’s new favorite saying is “It takes a village to throw a wedding.”  We are so blessed to have such an amazing village of family and friends that helped us every step of the way.  My husband (I still love writing that!) was so supportive of me throughout the process and let me run with any crazy idea that I had.  We wanted a very soft romantic color scheme and picked blush, ivory and gold.   My bridesmaids and I spent hours one evening putting together our invitations, my mom and I glued every cork together for our table numbers, and a good friend created all of our wood decor.

When I walked into our venue the day of the wedding it truly looked like a fairy tale, everything that I dreamed of came together so perfect.  Our parents were able to give of us the wedding of our dreams and so many others played such a huge role.  My older brother surprised me by buying my wedding dress, Joe’s brother and sister-in-law gifted us our videographer and a great family friend surprised us day of by lining our aisle and alter with rose petals. My Uncle married us and made our ceremony so personal.  He had asked Joe and I to email him the reason we love each other and want to grow old together.  During the ceremony he incorporated what each of us wrote and although others may not have known, I knew when he was reading what Joe said about me and it was such a special moment for the both of us. We had a lot of details that were very meaningful to both of us incorporated throughout the day.  Both of my grandmothers had passed away and I wanted to have something of them near me as I walked down the aisle.  I attached one of their rosary around my bouquet (along with my Moms dress) and wore the others diamond ring on my right hand.  Joe’s Dad passed away when he was young so he carried his pocket watch engraved with our wedding date on him.  We also used the same toasting glasses Joe’s parents used on their wedding day and I used the same apron my Mom used for her honeymoon dance.

After the wedding a friend asked me what my top three moments of the day were and although it was hard to pick I came up with these: Before my Uncle pronounced us as husband and wife he had us turn towards all our guest as he kept speaking.  Looking at all our family and friends that had come together to celebrate with us was a moment I will never forget.  My Dad had been practicing his speech for over and year and it was perfect but at the end he realized he didn’t have a glass to toast with so he grabbed our champagne bottle and drank straight from it!  Last was when I was opening a gift from Joe and was reading his sweet card about to cry when I realized at the end that it was a birthday card and he crossed it out and wrote wedding day! It really did take a village to throw our wedding and let me say that we have the most generous, loving, fun, caring and unique village there is!
