A note to my future (still undetermined) groom-to-be: I want this wedding. I want to be married at the always breathtaking Figueroa Mountain Farmhouse with gorgeous blooms from Peony and Plum dotting every inch of space. I want to tie the knot amongst the natural beauty of the Los Olivos mountains, followed by a rustic meets elegant celebration styled to perfection by A Stunning Affair. And I want the ever-talented Stephanie Williams on hand to capture every moment… because this wedding? It’s my world. And you can see every last glorious moment right here.
From Peony and Plum… Surrounded by a breathtaking backdrop of rustic mountain tops of Los Olivos, CA, Amelia and Skeet celebrated their nuptials in the company of 80 of their closest family and friends.
As they arrived at the unique and secluded 200-year-old Figueroa Farmhouse tucked away in the Santa Ynez Valley, guests were greeted by a refreshing beverage station offering Lavender Lemonade and Sweet Tea served in mini mason jars with striped straws. To memorialize the occasion, guests were asked to offer their best wishes and heartfelt sentiments to the bride and groom, which were hung on branches of a manzanita tree.
The ceremony area took place in an open, grassy field. Marking the entrance stood a wooden arbor that was hand made by the groom, complete with their names carved in the posts, and adorned by Peony and Plum with colorful blooms of peonies, garden roses, lilac, mint and seeded eucalyptus. Guests were invited to sit in seats which were arranged in a unique spiral seating pattern. The groom, looking dashing in a black suit and lavender tie, with his groomsmen, also wearing black suits and grass green ties, escorted seven bridesmaids wearing short lavender dresses and cowboy boots. The beautiful bride, wearing an exquisite vintage lace gown and tan cowboy boots, walked around the spiral aisle accompanied by her parents. At the conclusion of the intimate ceremony, guests showered the bridal couple with fragrant lavender sprigs.
Following the service, guests gathered for cocktail hour where they listened to live bluegrass musicians, sipped on rum punch and dined on delicious oysters on the half shell and bite sized English pasties, one of the many nods to Amelia’s British heritage. On their way to the reception which took place in the main house, guests picked up green apples inscribed with their names and table numbers by Calligraphy Katrina. The room was decorated with wooden rectangular and round tables and adorned with vintage lace hand-picked by the bride. Centerpieces were displayed in a variety of antique English silver tea pots and vases filled with gorgeous pastel peonies, fragrant garden roses, fresh lavender and herbs, delicate anemones and Little Lady apples, all surrounded by soft candlelight. Additional Bistro lighting added a warm glow to the room.
Guests danced the night away to the sounds of an entertaining DJ. When it came time to cut the cake, guests also feasted on a gorgeous dessert display featuring lavender macaroons, fruit tarts and lemon meringue pie: Amelia and Skeet’s favorite pie! Each guest was also treated to a wedding favor which included a vintage tea cup and saucer complete with English Tea. We were all honored to be part of such a beautiful and touching wedding. Congratulations to Amelia and Skeet!
