I happen to be all kinds of obsessed with gorgeous old homes overflowing with romance and history, so saying “I do” in a beautiful Victorian mansion like the Inn at Park Winters is kind of like my personal dream come true. Yep, just the thought of spending my wedding day in this breathtaking setting makes my heart pitter patter… and doing it all with the help of the oh-so-talented team at Locally Grown Weddings? Even better. Which is why this sunshine-filled day is literally taking my breath away with its vintage meets classic vibe and an al fresco reception that is beyond stunning. See it all right here.
From Aurora Meneghello from Locally Grown Weddings… Justin, who works in the wine industry, proposed to our bride, Alison, while on a sourcing trip in France. So romantic! Alison has a fondness for antiques and elegance, so when we showed them Park Winters, it was love at first sight! The venue is a lovingly restored Victorian about 45 minutes southeast of Sacramento and is simply a stunning place to host a weekend’s worth of celebrating.
The overall design was inspired by the venue and its Victorian roots. Alison and Justin came to Madeline with their color palette and a general idea of what they were thinking, and together, they refined to include more Victorian elements. Madeline, as always, did an amazing job of creating Victorian inspired decor pieces without making it feel as though you were on the set of a period drama. All the signage such as the table names and escort cards were all inspired by old apothecary jars and vintage books.
Vintage jello tins were used as candle holders, and also given out as favors, adding a hint of rustic farm to the decor. The team even worked together to make sure that this theme was carried though in the look of the menu and signage for the welcome drinks and desserts. Madeline also created a custom map to guide the guests through the property that used the same Victorian visual language. The map tied it all together creating a unique experience for our couple and their guests.
Aurora had such an amazing engagement shoot with Alison and Justin! The images she captured were so complimentary to the couple that they placed a large print from the shoot by their guest book table. What a sweet touch!
With Justin’s background in the wine industry, he was focused on having amazing wine to complement the local, organic bounty Chef Stephanie prepared. Alison and Justin worked with Stephanie to create a menu that would complement the wine being poured. The cocktail reception started with champagne and refreshing cucumber water to accompany the passed appetizers.
For dessert, Alison and Justin wanted to highlight the delicious fresh fruit that was in season. With a nod to their engagement in France, Pei-Yee created some lovely fruit tartlets filled with vanilla pastry cream and finished with some of the last berries of the season. When planning out the dessert menu ideas, Alison shared that she was particularly fond of lemons, so it was only natural to add Pei-Yee’s scrumptious (and tangy!) lemon bars to the offerings. Platters of fresh fruit and Blue Bottle coffee completed the final course of the evening, and fueled guests to keep dancing away the night.
