From Acres of Hope Photography…A classy, elegant affair- Shauna and Cody were married at Emma Estate, a private residence in Rancho Santa Fe, CA. Featuring timeless colors and florals, and a few DIY details (the bridesmaids’ floral sashes, as well as the flower girls’ attire).
From Rebecca Gaffney, Red Letter Days Events…From the first moment I met Shauna Stoughton Miller and her mother, Lisa, I was struck by their kindness, their strong commitment to their family and loved ones, and their unwavering faith. It was an instant friendship and laid the groundwork for a joyful, inspired planning experience for Shauna and Cody’s wedding day. Our path was guided by creating signature moments that were extremely important to Shauna, Cody, and their families, which then developed the aesthetic framework for those elements. “I wanted to cherish every second of the day like my time with my mom as I got ready, eating breakfast with my bridesmaids, praying with my dad before I walked down the aisle, telling Cody my vows, our first kiss as a married couple, the father-daughter dance…” explained Shauna.
True to Shauna and Cody’s sweet yet sophisticated charm, a garden feel with a hint of vintage was created for the day at the stunningly beautiful Emma Estate in Rancho Santa Fe. “It was an incredible job of making it romantic yet not over the top,” Shauna shared. Paula Rae Anderson for Rae Florae created personal and decorative floral that spoke to the classy whimsy Shauna sought. While maintaining a natural feel, Paula translated Shauna and Cody’s color palate of pewter, steel, slate, eggplant, and soft white through bouquets and vinyets made of peonies, garden roses, dahlias, hydrangea, dusty miller, tulips, sweet peas, ranunculus, and mini cymbidium orchids. Soft market lighting draped the garden and dance floor, and mirrored the glow of romance that came from Shauna and Cody. The couple’s attire, along with that their wedding party, was perfectly matched for the day – dressy garden party.
Lisa, a graphic designer, created all the paper elements, and we had a blast working through the design of the candy bar (which incorporated Lisa’s mother’s china); the groom’s cake presentation – a Green Bay Packers “helmet” (another key element that was a surprise for Cody); and the Mexican cuisine-inspired menu (the couple’s favorite), which was planned with Chef Axel Dirolf, executive chef for SeaWorld San Diego.
The couple’s favorite music completed the perfect ambiance, thanks to Jay Brannen, and with a sparkler send off, the couple left Emma Estate ecstatic about what the day meant and what the day meant to them.
