From A Good Affair Wedding & Event Production… When thinking of a great theme and design for a bridal shower, lingerie came to mind. Often it seems that when people think of a “lingerie shower” they think risqué rather than classy style. I wanted to show how a lingerie shower could be chic and sophisticated. I knew right away the perfect location for this design, Franciscan Garden’s Bridal Suite in San Juan Capistrano. With a soft palette in mind of blushes and creams I wanted to bring in French elements without the usual pink, black, and white you too often see with French themed events.
I set off with this inspiration and on a trip to Oregon I went antiquing and found a fabulous assortment of 1900-1930’s vintage perfume bottles, I knew I wanted to add these into the look of the shower. We acquired some amazing vintage lingerie pieces that brought my ideas to life. Along with a vintage Priscilla of Boston veil (my Mother’s veil from the 70’s) hanging above the sweets table, the vintage style came together beautifully. I had the idea to create some custom orbs made by hand with lace to suspend above the tables; this is a great DIY project that can add such a romantic and whimsical touch for your event. We also created custom candles wrapped with lace to tie in to the overall look. I wanted fluffy and romantic flowers that went with the layers of linen and soft feminine look, with a great team of vendors it all came together beautifully!
