For all you modern, beach wedding lovers you better get ready to take some notes. I love the fresh approach to sleek, modern decor in this Dana Point Wedding by Ashley Rose Photography. There is a fun mixture of all the elements and a little touch of country as homage to the groom’s Idaho roots. The look is simple, clean and oh-so sweet. From the Bride… We wanted the look and feel of the wedding to reflect our lives and our personalities so we chose a modern country theme. We both love the ocean and the I am from Southern California so it made sense to have the venue on the ocean. We also wanted a rustic country barn look, which tied in the rural Idaho upbringing of the husband. We used colors and decor that were clean, simple, and elegant.
My favorite memory of the day was seeing each other for the “first look.” After all the build up and anticipation, it was really exciting. It was great to celebrate with all of our closest friends and family and see everyone having a great time on the dance floor. Overall the entire day was an amazing experience.
The advice I would give to other brides would be, don’t procrastinate! We were sure to plan things ahead of schedule just in case we had a bump or two in the road. Also, hire a wedding planner! If you are in the Southern California area, Gianna San Filippo (Chic Celebrations) was our wedding planner and she was amazing! Since we were not near our location while planning, it helped to have someone there who was well connected to all the vendors, venues, etc. They are worth it, and it makes the planning and wedding day go very smoothly! We were also very happy we did all our pictures before the wedding. It took the stress and time crunch out of doing it after the ceremony. It allowed us a little time to ourselves after the ceremony to relax and take a deep breath. Finally, don’t sweat the small stuff. Getting caught up in minor details can take the fun out of planning the wedding and you won’t remember the little stuff after the wedding anyway.

I live right near Dana Point! What a gorgeous location for a wedding. Love those billy balls. :)
The use of the water, rocks and sign lead to a nice contrast to the beautiful bride in her dress and the groom enamored with that beauty
I love the bridesmaid's dresses- anyone know who the designer/brand is?
The bridesmaids dresses were from Davids Bridel and the color is pewter. Loved the dresses and they even had pockets :)
Beautiful bokeh! Love the one the bride has the bouquet!
Love the colors! Also love those jeweled flip flops on page 2 of the gallery. Anyone know where they're from?
So much GORGEOUS!
Any information on those wooden table numbers?? Have been looking for something just like that forEVER!
Thanks in advance!
Thank you so much for the gorgeous feature, this wedding was so great to work on. The couple was so fun, and the vendors were a total dream team. The jeweled flip flops were from Old Navy and were gifts from the bride to the bridesmaids and mothers. I actually made the table numbers myself :) Feel free to contact me if you are interested in renting/purchasing them.
I love the rustic and pretty feel of this wedding. It reminds me of my own wedding...but that was a long time ago! I too used lanterns. Ours were cast iron though, green. My mother got them from lookintheattic and we had cala lilies as flowers :) This wedding looks very pretty -- wishing you two the best!
LOVED the forals and weddding cake, nice job!
