From Karen Koch…Katie and Paul wanted an old Hollywood style wedding and choosing the historic Oviatt Penthouse in downtown Los Angeles made for the perfect backdrop. The ceremony and reception were held in the evening on a bi-level terrace with a black-and-white checkered dance floor. The cocktail hour was in the penthouse, where guests could wander around looking at signed photos of Hollywood greats, as well as photos of the couple. Guests received cocktail napkins with the Mae West quote, “Too much of a good thing can be wonderful,” and the W.C. Fields quote, “I drink therefore I am.” To underscore the venue’s historical atmosphere, a deejay took guests on a musical journey with highlights from different decades. The couple’s first dance, choreographed by their Arthur Murray instructor, was to Dean Martin’s “Ain’t That a Kick in the Head.”

Wow to the photography for this wedding! What a lucky couple to have made this choice! Out of all the photographers out there, it looks as though they picked what truly worked! Frame 36 should come to Northern California and I would hire them for my wedding!

As a LA based commercial director/cameraman for the last 20 years, and an advertising photographer for 10 before that, I look at photography very closely. And I would sum up my reaction by saying that I would hire frame 36 for myself and family. I felt the scope and beauty of the people and event. The details were exquisite, and the people felt natural and spontaneous.I really felt like I was there, in the best possible way. WAY better than I could have done!!!

Hi, everyone! Bride's mom, here. Yes, Frame 36 was fantastic (but the bride and groom were camera-friendly subjects). What this spread doesn't show is the fantastic action photography of the dazzling belly dancers -- a surprise from the groom for his Greek bride and her family!

Special kudos to Jay Michael for the flowers and the impeccable, ever-attentive Ray Proscia.
