From Joy de VivreIt was such an absolute pleasure to help Erin and Paul on their wedding. Erin was a self professed lover of all things Martha Stewart, and took on a number of DIY projects which she executed to a tee! The ceremony and reception were held in the garden of an historical estate in Santa Barbara, California where Erin and Paul had gone to college.

Erin and Paul used quite a few Martha Stewart templates to craft their decor. Guests were greeted to lemonade and lavender iced tea in mason jars with sweet grosgrain drink flags that Erin and her family made using these. The escort cards flags were created by calligrapher Wendy Ware and hung between fig trees in the garden. Erin used the Martha Stewart banner of flags template.  They also sat in chairs with a sweet white doiley swag. Guests were guided to their seats by favor crackers containing saltwater taffy, also created using this Martha Stewart template.

Each favor read the guests name and was placed on to of a yellow and white striped napkin. All guest tables were covered in La Tavola Linens Tuscany Natural linen. The flowers, which were a lovely combination of dahlias, hydrangea, peonies, garden roses and dusty miller, were created by the talented Cody Floral and were placed in a number of different mercury glass vases down the tables. Antique-like garden wire frames held the table numbers, which were printed on yellow and white striped paper.

  29. Boston E says:

Can you share where the groomsmen's suits are from?

  30. Erin says:

Thank you Kelsey! Our wonderful calligrapher created the template for the yellow + white awning striped paper. She designed our invitation with the stripes and we carried them into the wedding day decor.

  31. Meg says:

one of the things that i think really defines the tables is the tablecloths. I had actually come across them before in another wedding -- funny that this is the second time that i noticed them. It looks like from the vendor list that you may have purchased them. if so, pls let me know as i may have interest in purchasing them.

  32. Kamie says:

How sweet is the groom! He looks sooo happy-made me smile!! Who doesn't love Martha!?

  33. Melinda says:

SO Pretty!! Where are those ties from? They are so cute :)

  34. Really good blog post, showed post to a client and it helped us with ideas. Thank you

  35. What an elegant, clean and crisp looking wedding. It wouldn't look out of place in an Estee Lauder or Ralph Lauren commercial! Love it.

  36. I love the idea of using same fabric and color but different design for bridesmaids dresses. Not everuone look great with low cut neck, or strapless dress. This is to suit everyone! And so non selfish of bride!

  37. Allyson says:

I am having a hard time trying to decide exactly which DIY elements I want to tackle in my March 2011 wedding. This post has given me such a good direction with that. It has just the right amount of DIY to make it intensely unique. Thanks so much!

I tried my hand at the chair swag (and its accompanying mobile) and those little suckers are not as easy as you think to make!

  38. J says:

    Where are the ties from?

  39. What a lovely wedding! It's classic and romantic and not a bit over done. The little touches as well as the over-all decor is beautiful.

  40. Meg says:

Hi Erin - beautiful wedding! Do you know what shoes the bridesmaids are wearing? I'm looking for something similar for my bridemaids.

    Thanks.

  41. Urska says:

Love your color scheme, wedding dress is simply lovely, shoes are so whimsical, everything is so perfect! Great job, my compliments.
I'll use that color scheme at our wedding too! It's so natural, fresh and sophisticated.
Congratulations on your marriage and many happy days to newlyweds!

  42. Erin says:

The groomsmen suits and ties are from Brooks Brothers.
We rented the table cloths and napkins from La Tavola and were very pleased! http://www.latavolalinen.com/
The bridesmaids chose their own gold/silver shoes in the brand of their preference. I have had good luck finding very cute options at J. Crew, Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, and Nordstrom. Good luck!

  43. racheal says:

Just curious to know what type of paper/fabric you used for the favor crackers?

  44. Erin says:

Hi Racheal! I wrapped the candy crackers in gray crepe paper from Mister Art.
    www.misterart.com/

  45. Racheal says:

Thanks Erin!!! I am currently collecting the toilet paper rolls for this project and since I've found the crepe paper how much did you order for your quantity of poppers? I am planning to do at least 100-120 and trying to figure out about how much I should order.
