Okay, SMP-ers. On to the really good part from today’s wedding…the details. The screen-printed ceremony backdrop that was re-used as a photobooth, the sweet flowers, the INSANE paper goods from DIY coasters to placecards. I could seriously go on and on about all of the perfect touches that the couple infused that not only captured their personality, that also made the space so warm and so inviting. And SO chic. I mean, even the guests were completely adorable. Photographed beautifully by the absolutely awesome pair at Belathee, this wedding is perfection!

From Belathee…
The flowers were done by a friend, using bottles of different shapes and sizes. Guests dined on incredible fresh, organic food prepared by Katie Powers Catering. The “mess hall” in the Marin Headlands Center for the Arts has amazing long wooden tables with the coolest mix-and-match wooden chairs you have ever seen. Guests were given “questionnaires” where they were asked funny questions about Maggie and Dave (including what their new last names should be). Their place cards doubled as personalized coasters made by Maggie and Dave.
After dinner guests danced to the music of Geographer, a Bay Area band, under bulb lights and “poofs” created by Maggie. The ceremony backdrop was repurposed as a photo booth backdrop which created wonderful keepsake pictures.

This DIY Wedding is so adorable. The Bride and Groom must have impeccable style, as it shows through in every detail.
Love! Love! Love! the gray and goldenrod yellow are so pretty together.
I love it all! Dying to hear all about the paper! Gocco and laser cutter? LOVE! And are the tags handmade? So gorgeous!
I love how they took ordinary things and made them spectacular. The use of oranges is simply gorgeous, and the popcorn and potato chip favor bags? Surprisingly grown up! Loving this.
Love the simplicity of the cake and topper!
love love love love!! that's simply gorgeous!
I love the placecards and coasters very simple design yet so stylish and a great keepsake for every guest.
omg...this is beautiful...I love the "we say" card insted of a notebook that is very used in Portugal. Also the popcorn little bag and the "photobooth".
<3 Really inspiring!
absolutely love every single little thing about this!
Love the lights, just the perfect touch to set the mood!
I would love to see a close up of the writing on the we say cards! They look so cute!
Such a beautiful wedding! Love this venue and the wedding stationary is gorgeous!!
The tiny bags of potato chips, kettle corn & chocolate are thoughtful & elegant, yet seem to scream FUN! Love every detail of this wedding...amazing how gorgeous a simple bowl of clementines can be!
@Amber Moon: We designed the frame motif with a friend who is a graphic designer and then printed the save the dates and invites on our gocco. We laser cut the coasters, programs, menus, and "we say" cards, which created a cool effect of white lettering on gray paper. My amazing mom hand lettered the tags.
I adore this wedding. I love the details, the DIY, the quirk, the personality, the whole day just screams special.
What do the "We Say" cards say? I'm getting married in a couple of weeks and would love to make those for our guests. Great idea :)
how did Maggie make the "poofs" that hang over the dance floor?! I love that DIY element!
Wow.. love the stationary too!!! also curious what the "We Say" cards say?
love the gocco'd place settings. would love to read more about how to make those!
Hey guys...working on getting a larger pic of the We Say cards so that you can see what the words are...I'll keep you posted!
@Maggie - You are so sweet to reply!
You are a gorgeous bride! It only suits that your wedding was stunning as well! I love how you used the laser cutter - amazing! You didn't even have to screen the white ink on the gray? It engraved that way? I LOVE IT! Please open a design studio!!!
xo!
Amber
I adore your wedding! My wedding is in November and my color palette is very similar (minus the orange) its gray and marigold (or some call it canary yellow). I'm super interested in 3 things:
1- the shoes!
2-the ladies restroom sign!
3-the tissue pom poms!
please tell me how to make restroom sign and the tissue pompoms! they are amazing!
ps- kudos to your mom, she is a genius!
oops! one more thing...your bouquet...
those are yellow craspedias and fuschia ranunculas? or am I totally off?
Love the lights! We had planned to do just regular twinkle/Christmas lights with "poofs" similar to yours, but I like the vintage bulb strings better. I've been looking at the Party Lights website. How many strings/bulbs did you need to buy in order to make the room feel finished?
Hey guys! We updated the post with a link to a large pic of the We Say cards. Hope that helps!
Lauren & Coraline, We made the poofs using this tutorial: http://www.deepfriedkudzu.com/2006/04/making-giant-paper-pom-poms.html .
Coraline, the ladies restroom sign was made by covering a piece of form core with gray paper using spray mount. The lettering was by hand with a white ink pen. The frame was traced onto yellow paper, cut out with an craft knife and then spray mounted to the sign. And the bouquet was yellow craspedia with pink peonies. I love peonies and was lucky that they were in season for our May wedding. My amazing friend Kim got the flowers from the SF Flower Mart on Friday and did all the flower arrangements. Good luck with your wedding! I LOVE the gray and marigold combination (obvs).
Amber, thanks! We weren't expecting the laser cutter to engrave the text in white that way, but it was a happy accident!
