From wedding planner, Tobey Dodge:

Katie and Jason set out to find the perfect location that reflected their personal style and taste. Marvimon fit the bill to a tee. As Katie put it, they were after an elegant and undone look. Unpretentious, a friendly romantic vibe set the tone for an evening filled with gratitude for finding each other and sharing their love with their closest and dearest friends and family.

Because more guests said yes than they thought, made for some cozy seating, but it just goes to show how many people wanted to be there to celebrate their most perfect union. The ceremony was held in the high walled garden in the rear of the property. Surrounded by brick walls, hanging vines and crushed granite and sand beneath them, they exchanged their vows simply with the two of them standing with their officiant who brought Eastern spiritual rights and Western customs together.

The guests were served champagne immediately following the ceremony as the catering staff and coordinators repositioned the bentwood chairs inside to fill the rows of dark wooden tables for the upcoming dinner  hour. The 20 foot plus high ceilings exposing duct work and vintage hanging lamps created that undone yet rich mixture of textures and mood lighting Katie and Jason were after to surround their guests in a one of a kind visual and emotional experience.

The heartwarming welcome speech by Katie’s Dad set the tone for the honest, loving, and fun portrayal of the newly married couple. Servers hand carried the mouth watering culinary duet of New Your Steak and Pan seared Halibut to each guest. The delicious meal was topped off by a stacked cake  that had dollops of icing to ring each layer of the 4 tiered cake matching that freeform yet sophisticated vibe. Katie and Jason’s words spoke volumes of how happy they were to be breaking bread with the people they feel most connected to and dance the night away while their DJ artfully wove tunes from several genres, giving everyone a chance to enjoy the happily crowded dance floor. From the personalized place card numbers made by Katie to the collection of carefully chosen eclectic small and tall vases to create the  floral table landscapes, Katie and Jason’s fine artistic sensibilities and caring attitude toward their guests were felt throughout the entire event.

I recently saw another wedding in which the bride incorporated a lot of silver bling and white together. I think it really is a great look. Very classy and not too over the top.

I really, really love this wedding. Perfect combo of urban elegance with rustic charm. The bride accomplished what I am trying to do, but she did it REALLY well! Would love to know about the necklace- I've been searching for months for something just like it.

This wedding strikes the perfect balance between understated & eclectic...it's gorgeously done, yet not too matchy-matchy. Beautiful & timeless, & what a gorgeous bride!

Wow - you ladies are so sweet! I am the bride and it was just such a magical day for us!!! The shoes are Louboutins, the dress is Carolina Herrera, and the necklace is from my friend Ricki Miller's amazing vintage jewelry store in LA called House of Love and Luck. And I got the cake toppers on ebay - they are vintage from the 50's. Thanks for all your lovely comments xx

What an amazing dress - LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! So many gowns start to look the same after a while (strapless, a-line, snooooorrre)... but this one made me sit up and go, "Wow! Pretty pretty!" And the whole event just looks relaxed, effortless and very charming. I love weddings like that... a celebration that looks like a pretty party and not an overly-styled fashion shoot. This wedding is just perfection.

can you please tell me where your beaded belt is from ? i'm looking for something exactly like that.
    thanks!!

Hey ladies - The belt is from Carolina Herrera. It doesnt come on the dress, I had them add it. Also, the veil is from Modern Romance Bridal. It it the Sweetheart Veil in ivory, but i bunched it up and stuck the end through the comb to make it into a little pouf. I felt like i was in a Madonna Like a Virgin video when i tried on a real veil so this was my own little "ode to a veil".
