Lately, I’ve been obsessing over all things modern. Especially weddings. The clean lines, the fresh approach to design, the simple but generally gorgeous style. So when I see a modern wedding done really right, I jump at the chance to feature it on SMP. This wedding was sent to us by the clearly talented Watson Studios (and clearly lucky to get to shoot weddings like this one) and I am officially blown away. Click here to see lots more.

Robin & Paul’s wedding took place on the rooftop of the Thompson Hotel in Beverly Hills. Every aspect of the wedding was bright and colorful. The bridesmaids carried pink, orange and red tulip bouquets and the groomsmen each wore different colored ties. The bright, cheerful colors glistened as the southern california sun set behind Robin & Paul’s modern poolside ceremony.
After the ceremony, guests sipped on cocktails at the hotel’s rooftop bar overlooking downtown L.A. At the reception guests mingled and utilized the many lounge areas set up around the pool and bar areas. There were many unique touches including a colorful cupcake and candy bar. The L.A. skyline at night was magical…
Many of Robin & Paul’s guests were from Tennessee or New Jersey, the couple’s home states, and so the wedding was a destination event for many of the guests. Having lived in L.A. for the last several years, Robin & Paul wanted to give their family and friends a real L.A. experience. The reception included a dance-off with the Tennessee guests on one side of the pool and New Jersey on the other. Robin and Paul’s wedding had an unforgettable and raucous ending with half of the wedding party diving into the pool!

You're right, this is fresh, sharp and really classy, which is really nice to see at a modern wedding. I also love the use of colour, the flowers really pop agains the simplicity of it all.
