It’s hard to imagine saying no to anything that Meg Fickling of La Partie Events sends our way. From the AH-AH-MAZING do-it-yourself flowers that we featured last year to the incredible weddings that she styles, it seems that Meg just has the special sauce for a perfect affair. And this wedding that Albert Lewis of Mulberry Photography photographed is on par with all of Meg’s usual gorgeousness. Plus it’s super colorful and fun which is making this Boston girl very happy.

Chris and I fell in love with the Parker hotel when we were first dating. As soon as we got engaged and decided on a Palm Springs getaway wedding, my mind was set on The Parker. We wanted our guests to enjoy a weekend away relaxing in the sun. I wanted the style of the wedding to compliment the colors and décor of the hotel – hip and stylish, yet relaxed. Since our wedding was on a Friday night, we planned a golf tournament on Saturday and a “thank you” cocktail party that evening. We both enjoyed spending the entire weekend with our friends and family. We wanted everyone to enjoy Palm Springs as much as we do. We created Welcome bags for our guests with wine, crackers, cheese, candy and cookies, sun block and chap stick. Everything was decorated with the logo “a+c” I made as much as I could myself: the cocktail flags, the escort cards, letters and logos for the welcome bags, and my jewelry.
We decided on orange, bright pink and lime green as our colors. Everything needed to pop! Both Megan and I wanted to tie in some of the desert feel with succulents and cactus.
Our wedding party was just family. My sister was my matron of honor, and Chris’s two cousins were his best men. The flower girls and ring bearers were the groomsmen’s children and my brother-in-law did our reading. We felt that the ceremony was very personal and intimate. We decided on less formal music for our ceremony. I walked down the aisle to “Say” by John Mayer, Chris escorted his mom down the aisle to “First Day of My Life” by Bright Eyes and our flower girls and ring bearers walked down to “Falling in Love at a Coffee Shop” by Landon Pigg.

So cute and colorful! That color scheme really makes the wedding look like it should, like a CELEBRATION!
