A Matthew Robbins Tablescape

Wedding guru Matthew Robbins is a personal favorite (of ours, of Martha Stewart's, and let's be honest, pretty much every lady on this planet). Which is why we literally squealed when images of a beautiful holiday tablescape from his own home popped in our inbox. While we love the holidays, sometimes you just don't want to deck out your home in jingle bells and tinsel; sometimes, you want something a little different. With this...

DIY Book Ornaments

Whoever said that beautiful, handmade ornaments were a thing of the past was seriously mistaken! Don't let the looks of our leatherbound book ornament fool you: it can be whipped up by anyone in no time. But our favorite part about this craft? The pages can be completely personalized to the giftee's taste. Think along the lines of a sweet quote, lyrics from a favorite shared song... or even a proposal! (Yep, we had to go there). At any rate, think about how good it'll feel to make something this...

What to get for all of these folks? Well, we think these DIY pine sachets are just what the doctor ordered. Literally everyone loves both the smell of pine and receiving a thoughtful, homemade gift. Problem solved! (You're welcome). A huge thank you to Ms. Jess, our...

Gorgeous Holiday Prints from Kari Herer Photography

Growing up, our moms had the whole holiday decoration thing down. Come Thanksgiving, the tree would go up with ornaments galore, the intricate needlepoint pillows came out, and the crystal bowls were filled with pine potpourri... Little did we realize that this effort was years in the making! As you may have realized, building a holiday decoration arsenal from scratch can be slightly daunting. This is why we love photographer Kari Herer's...

A Simple Christmas Soiree

If you're like us, you've been looking forward to the holidays since last New Year's. There simply isn't another time of year that captures that same feeling of hope, camaraderie, and peace. I mean, when else do you get a chance to relive the glory years with your best friends from high school and have meaningful, philosophical discussions about life with your favorite aunt? As many of these happenings occur during holiday gatherings, it was the notion of nostalgia that initially shaped our...

Here at Style Me Pretty, we like to consider ourselves wine connoisseurs. As you also may have guessed, we have a strong affinity for adorable DIY projects. Love of vino aside, our etched wine decanter is ideal for the thoughtful holiday gathering. Anything that can indicate self-service to guests while simultaneously acting as a piece...

Simple Hanging Wreath

When hosting a party, especially a holiday party, you want to make sure that the ambiance is warm and inviting. This is exactly what these DIY hanging wreaths were made for. Yes, candles on their own are fantastic. But when guests see a few of these beauties hanging around your home, it'll be as if you're casually saying, "Oh, did I forget to mention that I'm an amazing hostess? Sorry about that!" When you're inevitably complimented, of course, you'll act as if it was just something you threw...

Plus, delicious, home-cooked treats are a time-proven way to show your adoration for your guests. With this in mind, we honed in on three traditional recipes that all can enjoy (dietary restrictions included!).
