Chocolate Banana Bread Cake

Banana bread cake treated like a layer cake had been dancing around my mind for a while now. For some reason I wanted to turn a well known homey treat into a birthday extravaganza. I figured dulce di leche would be a great addition and that a layer of chocolate ganache would pull it all together in true birthday fashion. I am happy to report that it turned out to the be a very decadent and surprising birthday surprise.

Inspired by our recent trip to Spain, I created this summery gazpacho. With tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers readily available at every farm stand, it's the perfect late-summer meal. It comes together in minutes. Adding leftover shrimp infuses protein and bulk to your lunch. Serve it with crusty bread and you'll have a great family dinner or a fancy party appetizer! For more, head on over to...

Café Frappé

I took a memorable (and hot!) trip to Greece after I graduated from university. While I enjoyed a lot of Tzatziki, Souvlaki and Moussaka on my trip, I ordered Café Frappé every chance I got. This simple coffee drink is available on every corner in Greece- you can order it with sugar and milk, or just the coffee. Not your typical overpriced, super sweet, frozen drink from the coffee shop- Café Frappé is a quick, inexpensive, and refreshing summer drink! For more recipes, head on over to...

Baked Nutella French Toast

I love french toast, but sometimes it's a little time consuming to soak and fry two slices at a time. Which is why I really like baking it! You get the puffy golden bread, with all the crispy good bits, but can still hang out with your family while it's baking - it's the perfect solution! And do I really need to mention the Nutella? Pink Ombré Cake with Strawberry Mascarpone Frosting

February calls for pink Valentine goodness. A simple vanilla cake turns a little fancy with ombré layers and a delicious strawberry mascarpone frosting. I also added to the cuteness by baking this cake in 6 inch pans and adding tiny nonpareil to the top of the cake. Baking this in six inch panes allows for 3 layers of pink goodness. For more recipes, head on over to Audrey’s! *NOTE: And if you don't want to bother making the cake...

Roasted Garlic Mushrooms with Parmesan Polenta

Come January, I find myself craving comfort food. Something cozy and warm, but nutritious to help balance those holiday indulgences. As things wind down, I also appreciate recipes that are easy to whip up on a whim. This meal totally fits the bill - the mushrooms are a tasty alternative to meat and the polenta adds the bulk you may crave to fight the cold. For more recipes, head on over to ...

Cardamom Plum Trifle

For the holidays, I'm always looking for pretty looking deserts that look impressive, but are simple to throw together. A trifle tends to fit the bill perfectly!
